How many of those players could realistically leave us and land in a better situation? I'd say just one-- Morgan. Who is in fact wanting to leave us. And has been pretty open his entire career that he's using as a stepping stone.
I'm sorry, the only way someone uses a club as a stepping stone is to be at a club for a season or two at the most, then jump ship at the first opportunity. Morgan has been here for 6 years and didn't go at the first opportunity. OK, the club made sure he couldn't but he knuckled down ans has been excellent this season. Lovren used the club as a stepping stone and I refuse to tar Morgan and that **** with the same brush.

Which makes Charlie Austin a pretty prolific stepping-stoner.

Well not really, he's a PL striker - he can't play in the Championship again.

He was an unknown when he went to Swindon, was there for a couple of years before moving on. Then left Burnley when a better option came along, and now QPR (albeit due to other factors aswell). If he is as prolific at Saints as he has been at other teams I am pretty sure he will want to go in 2/3 seasons if a top 4 club came calling.

It is not a bad thing, it is just football.

We get players because they think we are a step up from where they are...can't complain if they do the same to us as long as they honour their contracts if we want them to. They aren't all like Lovren...now he used us as a stepping stone.

Told by my supposed ITK connection that this bid was in fact rejected last week but clyne has since met with Brendan Rodgers

Well, if Liverpool reach our valuation for the player, with only a year left on his contract, you'd think we'd sell. Bit of a shame if true, as Clyne sounded positive about Southampton in his latest interview.

Oh **** off. Anyone but Liverpool, please! They aren't even a step up - we could easily finish above them next season
