Yes, but for that season they were in the Prem. Suggesting McCarthy was the more capable Prem keeper.

This is how transfers went down in the '80s and '90s in the papers as far as I remember. This is how it should be. It could happen, and probably will, but it's not decreed as some club's birthright to grab Morgan - likewise, he's drawn some boundaries, beyond which he would prefer to stay at Saints. It's probably because we're at a stage of acceptance, and he has been open, but also that Arsenal are really no one's enemies - at least when it comes down to a comparison with the true axis of evil. I get the feeling a sensible decision will be made, whatever happens.

The only thing that worries me about the Morgan situation is the impact on the Clasie business. If people are aware Clasie is available for 12 odd mill, and Morgan's position drags on for a while, there's every possibility we could cock things up with this.

As I am not entirely familiar with Claise, if he joined us and Morgan did stay, would a midfield of Morgan, Victor and Claise work ?. Claise seems very similar in style to Wiltshere, in that they can both make a tackle but are at their best in the link role with attack and midfield.

Only problem with Hernandez is that he until recently was trying to secure a contract with arguably best club in the world and surely ending up on the south coast of England would't seem nearly as glamorous to him.

Such backward logic. He is still young enough, and will obviously be hungry for first team football! He would be an amazing signing (not that I think we could ever get him)
No, I'm saying that he might perceive that move as a huge step backwards in his career and might come here with a bad attitude and not in a right frame of mind. After Osvaldo, I don't want another player like that. He also saw us as being too small for him.

I've got a feeling, considering how close to the top 4 we were for most of the season, the fact we have a bit of cash in the bank and that Ronald has mentioned a couple of times this year that we don't have that one killer forward to win a game from nothing, that we might, just might sign a monster forward
Like who? We're not going to pay monster wages so I can't see us doing that. I'd be very happy with Charlie Austin.
