I dont think weve got too much to thank him for. Hes only been doing his job that weve been paying him very handsomely to do, so its a win win situation for both club and manager.
His spell at Sunderland probably clinched the England job for him aswell so we owe him nothing!

Bloody good point.

I'm still bitter about the way he went on last night, tbh.

If that's what he thinks of us, then he can go and get ****ed.
I don't understand this 'jumping to the gun' conclusion about why he did, and the way that he did, what he did last night (loads of 'did's !) when we've got absolutely no idea about the reasons :emoticon-0138-think

From the little that we know about Sam, he's not the kind of person to just '**** off without a word' and I believe that we've (generically) got this wrong . . . . and I know that it might just be me that's got it wrong :emoticon-0101-sadsm

I will certainly not 'hang him without a trial' 'cos that's grossly unfair to him, when I believe that we don't know the circumstances :emoticon-0145-shake

He might be a little tinker, but I don't think so :emoticon-0105-wink:

Sam has not gone yet.
He is at our training ground this morning.
He has been recommended as the best candidate for the job but the FA board have NOT agreed that he is the new England manger (yet)
This is still to be confirmed - today.

Obviously that is more important than making a quick decision <laugh>

I expect its full silver service aswell. Cant see it being a eat all you can buffet. Although Sam may ask for seconds. And a clean napkin.

He kept us up, just same as the previous lots did.

But he did bring in the Ks. So may have left his replacement with some better quality players to be getting on with and hopefully a more solid base to build on.

Probably my memory of him will be he kept us up and relegated the mags. So for that a big <applause> and a huge <laugh>

But that means 4-6 points less next season! :emoticon-0121-angry

I wouldn't go as far to say I am sad but I am genuinely disappointed that Sam is going, probably more than any other previous manager I have known. The potential this season was good, especially with seeing who he would be signing. He was manager for my sons first live Sunderland games (Man Utd 2-1 and Chelsea 3-2) and those memories I hope I will not lose. I bear no grudges (only towards Woy and the FA) and hope he does well for England.

Exactly - the real villains.

Aye he was. Then he went to City then came here - he's never looked back - only at his mortgage free life with flash cars!!

Sorry - I hope Moyes can make something out of him! Really do as I have seen glimpses (albeit 10 minute ones) of him looking a good player - then he reverts to type!!

I'm with you mate, not writing him off. There were some flashes end of the season, bar finishing..

Also, played his best football under Moyes.

Looking like a bit of a stalemate going on at the moment. FA will only offer 2m Compo and we've flat bang refused it. This inconvenience is worth way more than two million. Good on the club for not being completely walked all over.
i hope this compen stuff gets sorted out quickly, the longer the whole saga carries on for the more damage it will do to us and the less time we will have for our new manager to prepare for the upcoming season. On the other hand though i fully agree though that we should hold out for as much as we can get from the Fucking Arseholes at the FA, just a balancing act to which is more important.

Moyes will pass his targets on don't worry, Bain will be working on deals. This could go to a tribunal mate.

I am quite looking forward to the season, we know what is happening and hopefully know who our next manager is, so with this in mind we should now be able to operate in the transfer market with potential signings knowing who is going to manage them.
If this compensation is to go to a tribunal, who will be in charge? I hope it wouldn't be the FA?

Once we decide to take it to a tribunal Sam will complete his Job move and the compo will be sorted down the line. He could still become England manager without compo being agreed.
