I don't think they'll ever see the problem. The world is too soft and too many people take some sort of principled stance that if they don't own or carry a gun it might change something.
Only thing that comes from it is the ability for psychos to carry out attacks like this.
None. They aren't going to wake up because the munitions industry makes too much money for certain members of Congress.
If they weren't gonna sort out the gun laws after Sandy Hook, they never will.
A real problem is this person, because he's a white American, will be treated like a 'troubled soul', rather than a terrorist.

From what we know, the shooter was not legally allowed to own a weapon as he was a felon, dishonorably discharged from the USAF in 2014. There is also a story on the news that he was disarmed by a man with a gun, which caused him to flee the scene.

Well, if he was just a psychopath, he wasn't a terrorist. There is a definition for terrorist, which basically means it needs to be politically motivated.

In the US, or anywhere else for that matter, criminals or lunatics that want to get their hands on a gun always will, no matter what the gun laws are.
Precisely, there's far too many already in the us and even if there weren't, due to its geography it will still be far too easy to get your hands on them anyway. The best way to prevent things like this happening would be for every member of the public to carry a firearm.
Still trump blames the mentally of the man as the cause and not the gun in his hands.

I think the real problem is that several people died, and whether or not he's classified as a terrorist is a relatively trivial matter.
Did the gun fire itself? If a nutter wants to cause carnage they will get hold of a firearm, legally or legally. Why automatic weapons are readily available is another question. As why there are so many mass shootings. There are a higher percentage of household with a gun in Switzerland but they don't have mass shootings. Guns are banned in this country. Do we have no gun crime?
Twice as many people are killed on the roads in the USA as are murdered. We are told not to be hysterical about deaths caused by terrorists as there is more chance of being killed in a car accident.
