An old head on good wages until the end of the season with a huge bonus for staying up would be the wise option - much cheaper than the amount we'd lose from going down.
He doesn't know how to. He plays the same system every game and re-affirms in interviews that he will continue to do so, ergo ****ing MadnessWhilst the club is being run as it is, it is only a matter of time anyway. I think the manager should be given a chance to repair his mistakes.
I love Andy Dawson, but he did manage Scunny to relegation at the back end of last season. The Scunny fans I know don't blame him for the relegation or anything like that, but it did show that he couldn't quite turn a similar situation around. I don't think we should appoint anyone based on pure emotion, but if we went with the Whitney/Brabin dream ticket (as manager and assistant) I'd go out and but 30 or 40 memberships immediately.
I've been told a couple of times by people who have a far better understanding of how he operates than I have, that Ehab views managerial appointments as an opportunity to show people how clever he is. That's been behind the left-field choices such as Silva, Slutsky and McCann, and why it took him so long to appoint Phelan on a permanent basis. Our saviour would be as likely to come from the Allsvenskan as he would from within.
From the squad on Saturday he could have changed the system perhaps 4-4-2They're not first choice (*), Elder apart, but I don't really agree.
And he does have options ... off the top of my head .... Taff, esp when you're getting mullered from crosses, Kingsley (who's been playing for u 23's), LDS can do a better job at RB as can Pennington, etc.
But anyway, that's why he should be protecting them not leaving them wide open.
4 4 2 or 3 5 2 (which becomes 5 4 1 when defending). NOT 4 2 1 3 (whether that's how it's set out or not, that and 4 2 4 is what it's been in practice for big parts of the game, as confirmed yesterday by Richard Hinds).
(* McLoughlin looks a decent prospect)
GThe difference is that Billy was performing on the pitch and just drinking in his free time, as was Waggy, Bullard wasn't performing at all (while being paid a fortune) and I'm pretty sure Lager and Coke don't aid recovery.
Can't see his flask.. Think he my have gone 'native' with the blanket...Has he got a flask and tartan blanket?

That’s him, that’s askew
Ehab seemed? to have some connection with Silva. If he could get him back he would have a good go at turning it around.
Millions of pounds in signings and loans, a lucrative contract and a get out clause, can't see it happening againEhab seemed? to have some connection with Silva. If he could get him back he would have a good go at turning it around.
When you do hear something be sure to take a picture!! Cos well you know
Nonono - we had a great start under silva but he couldn’t turn it round when we started slipping and losing heart towards the end of the season. And we had considerably better players in the squad. Nothing he’s done since convinces me he’s got any depth, he’s all good hair and suits.Ehab seemed? to have some connection with Silva. If he could get him back he would have a good go at turning it around.
Great newsThere’s absolutely zero chance of Silva being interested.

Ah I missed that post, cheers. Not sure either, but the poster brought it up earlier (post # 299) ?
My first game was 1982. I've been a regular since about 86. I've not seen a team as predictably pathetic, and as out of their depth, as what we have right now. I've seen teams worse at football (Dolan, Hateley). I've seen teams with less passion (Hateley, 2009/10 season for the most part). But I've never seen a team so ill-prepared for what is facing them.
Grant McCann has a fair few mitigating factors, but they are mostly things that he went into with his eyes open. The Allams haven't just suddenly become clueless owners. He got Bowen and Grosicki for half a season longer than he'd probably expected. Injuries happen. They may not happen to the extent that we've suffered them, but if the replacements aren't good enough then McCann has to carry the can for much of that. If replacements Tafazolli, Magennis, Maddison, Honeyman, Balogh, Wilks, etc... aren't up to the standards that he or we expect, it was him who brought them in.
McCann has been able to shape his own squad. He's been given funds/resources that should, I think, be good enough to see us survive in this division. The "let's blame the Allams" schtick doesn't quite work with me on this one (for once). McCann has to be better than this. I want him to turn it around, obviously, but his intransigence or his inability to see what is clear to every last person doesn't fill me with any hope.
I worry about relegation. A lot. It's pointless trying to second-guess the Allams, but I do think they'll be less likely to sell in League 1 as they'll be less likely to recoup the money they see as owed to them. That's all on the proviso that they want to sell. Which they don't. But I need a bit of hope on that score. Just a modicum. And in League 1 I'd have none. It seems now that McCann is being given a last chance against Charlton this weekend. He's a lucky boy if so.
