Really pleased he got such huge applause, top bloke.

What a true true legend I would rather him then fat lad Elliott

I was think early
Jamie carragher, Paul scholes and Steve harper all hung up their boots
Today after their " one club" careers of
Complete loyalty and dedication to their clubs making them legends in each camps came to an end

In other news Michael "money grabbing" Owen hung up his boots
At stoke today

Harper had a good game. His championship performances were top class and he was unlucky to be ousted by Tim in all honesty, whose far more patchy than most top goalies.

I can say with complete honesty that it boggles the mind that Steve never got an England call-up when f***ing Rob Green had too many. Capello even went to watch West Ham when they were in the championship the season after just to call up that lemon <doh>

He deserved all of the applause and more. He should have had far more appearances for us than he did - I can't see how Elliot got into the team in front of him to be honest! Good luck Steve. Whatever path you decide to follow, I wish you every success! (As long as it's not with the Mackems!!!)

Could've played a large part of his career with another club, but didn't, he was the best backup keeper in the league for years behind Shay. Always respected and loved Harps.

Thank you Steve Harper, we will miss you
