Yeah, well aware how **** this lot are, but it's the ideas and the, not sure this is the right word, continuity, that I've been impressed by
Lots of potential there. Against the top sides I think we might prefer 433 with 3 of our strong midfielders played but against teams we expect to have to break down then I'd love to see us stick with 4231 and give Holtby/Carroll a start.
Doubt it. He's probably too busy sobbing in a corner torturing an effigy of AvB for leaving out 'Super Captain Mr Tottenham Michael the chosen one Dawson.
Like you, I think Carroll needs to be loaned out. I don't want him to be, but I think it's best for him to play 90mins every week. As a result it does us good in the long term as he'll get better and better. Eriksen and holtby as our 2 creative players for all domestic and European games will be enough, and very exciting at the same time.
The only problem I have with 433 is that it creates this wall between the mids and the forwards. It relies too much on wide play.
Bloody happy with that. **** team, did them over, lots of good performances from fringe players. Excellent
Rumour has it that it's worth buying shares in the funeral directors down Ashburton Grove since Sandro completed a full 90 minutes.
Not if you have a Lampard running in late or an Iniesta/Xavi type joining attack and midfield. For Arsenal though I think we should start with Paulinho - Capoue - Dembele the bring on Holtby in the no10 roll to change things up at the end. Maybe bring on Sandro to shore things up, or Defoe if Bobby is struggling.
Just put out Hugo and Sandro for the first half, they wouldn't have anyone left walking for the second.
I know, I know. But when we come up against "stoppers", we can't break them down. It makes us too 1 dimensional, IMO. Just seen it time and time again, mate.
Which is why I said I hope we stick with 4231 and give Holtby or Carroll a go in games where teams will sit back and make us break them down. You might like it but we agree, kind of
Did somebody curse Sigurdsson when he signed for us? He's been so unlucky in front of goal. Kane's been pretty unfortunate, too. Good overall performance against dire opposition. Almost like having a bonus friendly to get some extra match-fitness into the likes of Sandro, Kaboul and Holtby. Nice goal and celebration from our young German and I hope he's given a chance to compete with Eriksen for the number 10 role, if we manage to get that deal done.
