Two quick things:

1 - I might have to start a thread listing all the reasons why I love Sandro so much. ONe thing though - Sandro with competition for his place?! EVERYONE should be very afraid.

2 - First goal was a delight in that it contained so many of the positives from tonight - ridiculously commited, impressive win of the ball from Sandro, nice, intelligent pass from Carroll, lovely little run and ball from holtby then the finish you expect from Defoe. Perfect.

I've seen enough from tommy and Lewis to say I wouldn't be afraid of playing them in the prem. Start against some lesser teams though as this lot are poor which confuses my assessment

Sig slightly redeeming himself with the assist, but he's been outshone by Carroll and Holtby tonight. Bearing in mind holtby has just come back and Carroll hasn't had as much game time, it doesn't look good for sig. I'd go as far as to say he looks like a player who knows he might be leaving by Monday. - add that to the fact that he's got the same agent as bale, and it doesn't look good for him.

Well done AVB bringing Harry Kane on. This guy will succeed, he yet to cut it at the top level but he will, he just needs a bit of confidence. Perhaps he tries too hard sometimes.

Yup, he's been really good at times but there are times he made poor decisions or simply didn't look up.

Agree totally. Loving holtby I have to say, sometimes it's clear he's a bit lacking in games but he knows how to play that position IMO

Defoe's shaken off the rustiness tonight, I hope he stays and fights for his place. Enjoying watching Carroll and Holtby working in midfield, even if the German is looking a bit rusty. I'd take Townsend off at half time and Walker in the second half with Kane and Fryers coming on.
