Agreed. Another of his clichés. Yesterday we did our usual slow passing build up which is fine except we're really not very good at it. How many times does a simple pass to the full back end up going into touch?
It's a cliche, but, you agree with him, we're too slow.

It's clearly something he's noticed. I suspect he's mentioned it to the players. Short of getting on the pitch and showing them, what do you suggest he does?

It's not like he's a quiet sitting down type of manager either.

The fault is the players, he set them up just fine yesterday, he expects them to play to their strengths and to do what they're meant to. I get his frustration when they seem to just walk onto the pitch and forget everything.

Accusing him of using cliches is just in itself a tired cliche and ignores the problem, which is the players.

Actually, I think what we need is a captain with balls, and a temper. It's a shame Greegsy would be too far back from the root of the problem.

I didn't day we were too slow.

Obviously anything that happens on the pitch is down to the players, but equally obvious is that the manager is tasked with building a squad and getting them playing. There's perhaps an excuse if it's not his players but he signed every single one of them. All that money and we end up 5 ridiculously similar strikers none of which have any physical presence. If they're not doing performing then he's failing. And if we had a chief executive type figure, he'd be responsible for a failing manager.

Just read the post match interview by Bruce... "We never moved the ball quick enough in the first half" ...

Honestly, I dont know how many times he's said that when we dont win. Surely this is something we can work on in training, either change the formation to suit or change the players.
Seems to me the players are not taking a blind bit of notice of the managers instructions.

Time for 3-5-2.

Assuming Livermore, Snodders and Powell are all out:
Greegsy
Harry Daws Curtis
Dave Hayden Thudd Meyler Robertson
Aluko Hernandes

Wouldn't have picked Aluko if Diame, Akpom and Diomande hadn't been so poor. Real shame Luer isn't available to have a pop.

I think Bruce will play normal defence, Tom and Meyler in the middle, Cluclas on the left. Mo upfront. Drop Akpom.
I wouldn't play this team but that's the line up I think will play.

That's wot I'd do anarl.

Time for the big players to step up and play like big players. Now is not the time for ramshackle teams thrown together out of bits and bobs.

The negativity and panic on this board is unbelievable. Our problem in the last few games has been the inability to put the ball in the net. We've created chances but not finished them off. You don't solve that problem by changing the defensive formation (a resounding strength) by bringing in an extra centre half and going to 3 at the back! We're going through one of those spells when we are just not getting the rub of the green. Burnley will experience a spell like that, as are Middlesbrough now. Some posters seem to think we should be winning every game by a country mile and if we don't then it's SB's fault! Get real - this is the Championship & it's hard to get promoted from it. We are in an excellent position and now that we've got the distraction of the FA cup out of the way we're in a very strong position for automatic promotion.

We should be and it is SB's fault we're not. I bet any of Hernandez, Snodgrass or Livermore on their own cost more than the entire squads of 3/4 of the division.

It's not just the costs of these players either, their pedigree and stature in the game is well regarded too.

Anyone that thinks City's problem on Saturday was simply an inadequate helping of 'the rub of the green', probably wasn't there. It wasn't simply bad luck. It was lacklustre performances and questionable tactics also.

Nothing that's not capable of instant rescue though. Starting tomorrow, preferably.

The Tigers are set to be without Jake Livermore once again when they host Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night.

Livermore missed the weekend draw with MK Dons after damaging his knee in training last Friday, and although the injury isn’t as serious as first feared, the visit of Forest is likely to come too soon for a return.

Livermore joins Shaun Maloney (ankle) on the sidelines, while Robert Snodgrass, Nick Powell and Ryan Taylor could also still be missing.

“Unfortunately Jake tweaked a knee in training on Friday and we thought it was going to be a serious one, but thankfully it isn’t,” said Bruce.

“I think Tuesday will be too soon for him, though.

“Maloney has a twisted ankle, Snodgrass and Powell have picked up little niggly injuries which is frustrating, so we’re waiting to see who is going to be available for Tuesday.”

Nottingham Forest, who parted company with manager Dougie Freedman on Sunday, will be hoping that Nelson Oliveira will be fit for the trip to the KC Stadium after he missed the 3-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend with a groin problem.

Oliver Burke should be fit to feature as he wears a special cast to protect a broken hand, but Jamie Ward and Henri Lansbury are likely to miss out.

Former Tiger Jack Hobbs has missed the last two games with a back injury, while another former Tiger, Matty Fryatt is on the long-term injury list.

I don't think he has ever asked the players to move the ball quickly? I can remember any period during his management when we moved the ball with any sense of urgency. It has all been painfully slow letting the opposition get all back into position.

At times I think we have resorted to walking football, such is the lethargic approach.

Freedman said at the week-end their top scorer Oliveira will be out for 6 weeks

Macheda might receive international clearance in time.

All it needs is a bit of luck in the penalty area - like Burnley are getting at the moment - and you can stop panicking (however you spell it)!
