FSG have done a decent job. Not amazing but not a disaster.

They have invested in the club - yes, the net spend is smaller compared to rivals but our wage bill has almost doubled since when they took over, rebuilt the stadium and invested in the training complex. They have also delivered Klopp.

Unfortunately, I think this model is only good to win one or two trophies. If you look at similar clubs (in terms of not spending much) ie Dortmund and Atletico (and also Monaco after they stopped spending mega bucks and started investing in youth), they won their respective leagues and are competitive in CL. I think that’s the very best we can we hope for with our current owners.

If we want sustained success, I think we need owners who will go above and beyond to secure the best players.

I don’t think we do. Look at all of the big clubs and how many owners/CEO’s are football men? Arguably Bayern are the only club with ex footballers on the ball but I’m struggling to think of anyone else.

Look down the East Lancs Rd, the Glazer's leave the running of their club to football men and the likes of Charlton and Ferguson have a say in who gets to manage the club etc, if the Glazer's for example had decided to put their American people in instead of the football people they would've been as stagnant as we've been and their supporters would have let them know what was wrong in no uncertain terms.

The facilities at Melwood and Kirkby were already in existence when they bought the club, the sale of Melwood(prime land in a sought after area)will itself pay for the upgrade at Kirkby Academy.

Their refusal(so far)to rebuild the Anny Rd Stand is disgraceful considering it's down to long term investment in the club rather than them being skint.

I think Brexit will affect it and it depends what they build but in general it should be very affordable. It's a 5 year programme to break even but the thing is that's 2022 so who knows where Brexit drives it.

Oh and yes I agree. If they said they expanded the thing to get capacity to 63k from 59.8k or whatever is say ok... but 70mil?

But them not committing points to them selling on in the not to distant future, Spurs building a new stadium will probably see us behind them in matchday revenue, **** moneyball they need to speculate to accumulate.

Yes I agree. It's all short term payback. Like..... what do they think success means in prem... there's no payback on bloody players is there?
