It's coming up for a decade since I worked in employment law as a) I'm rusty b) I guarantee the law will have changed since conservatives come in but...
TUPE lays out the framework for which rights do and do not transfer when a company moves from one ownership to another. I think, and this is where I'm scraping the barrels of my brain, it wouldn't matter with a football club as it's usually regarding one company buying out another (or merging) and your actual employer changes (so the name of the person on your contract etc) whilst here the employer isn't changing at all. It doesn't matter who owns the company as it is it's own legal entity.

So in layman's terms, we're stuck with the ****
1. I’m gobsmacked that we still own the Charlie Hurley Centre land. It's worthless to the club, but incredibly valuable to a developer and standard stupidity from the club to have retained it.
2. Micky Gray is a club legend, but has no more inside info about us than Bill Cosby.
3. Contracts are always transferable under changes of ownership of a business, so that’s not a way to get rid of Rodwell. To offer him to **** off we would have to agree with the union (the ****ing PFA), and offer this option to every contracted player. It would be like putting out a fire with a mixture of airline fuel and newspaper balls.

Just checked and he's 79. He'll be dead this time next year if he takes over us.
There's even a picture of him sat eating his brekkie.

One thing that did occur to me today was FFP. It doesn't really affect you until the third season after you get relegated from the Premiership (as they allow heavy losses after relegation) but with relegation now to League One it means that even back-to-back promotions (which is hard to envisage) would have FFP coming in to play. The figure is an allowance of around a £13m loss per season (though averaged out over 3 seasons, so £39m) - the way things are at the moment it's easy to see that being breached a couple of years down the line. I would imagine prospective buyers would very much have this on their radar as penalties aren't fun.
I think loopholes can be found, or at least exclusions from TUPE. I was working for Northern Crock when Virgin Money bought the company and TUPE did not apply to that buyout. As it happens the T&Cs were more favourable in some ways - e.g. pay 9% of salary to pension fund and company pays the same (snapped their hands off for this)
I don't understand those who belittle Micky Gray, aye as a person he's a prized pleb but as a footballer he bled red and white for over 400 appearances in easily the best sides most of us will see.
He and Allan Johnston were a pleasure to watch.

I don’t think he was suggesting I did mate, think he was more agreeing with the ‘club legend’ part.
I’ve met Micky couple times including one fantastically booze filled evening around Seaburn and he’s a funny ****er, a ****er in a good way like most of my pals. And myself, frankly. Ha.
I don't think anyone did mate.
I love Micky Gray and the way he came back for us the season after missing that penalty.
But I just don't think he's anymore inside on the know than anyone else.
It was more a generalisation of the reaction Roker report got for calling him a legend.

The report on RR indicated that one of the consortia included an ex team mate of Micky Gray and that was where he was probably getting his info
The TUPE issue won’t work unless the club goes into administration at which point the rules change. Otherwise, as people have said the rules work to protect contact terms from one owner to another...
