This seems to be Bas reverting to type. With no one to advise him on what is proper business behaviour he goes off in all directions--that is what GT found so frustrating about him and why he has never been able to work for long with any business partner or senior director. (What happened to his partner the knee doctor , BTW, and the hairdresser grannie?).
I would not be surprised to see the deal go through. The bondholders will see to that , since they want a new owner who can actually pay back the bonds. It is a question of finding an arrangement that lets Bas keep a bit of cash. Watford does seem a good fit for the kind of business model the Pozzo family have in mind and they can buy the club quite cheaply. To return to an earlier point--they are NOT buying the club with the intention of driving it into the Premiership--they do not need to do this, and they will not provide funds for this, so do not expect it.
