This is pricey, but probably the best wedding venue ever I've been to http://carltontowers.co.uk/
Very impressive.
There were a few nice venues out of town, but my daughter wanted to get married at North Cave church, so we only looked local.

Rudstone would have been perfect! The views are immensely!
Really? Did you miss the gaffer tape on the carpet?
It's probably not changed since 1974 - the main building anyway. It was a really posh do. I was a page boy in a kilt. Maybe it's changed a little since 1974. New owners maybe?

It's the same carpet, that's why it's covered in gaffer tape...
The people who used to own it now live in Antigua. Hard life.
Ate there the other night. Gorgeous
Agree. It is worth a try.. Heard owner was a bit feisty but we have not had a problem, he was a good host to us. Been there twice recently and had two good meals. Good looking place too.try Hotham arms.. used to be alright.. I worked there when I was younger too![]()
Depends what you want. But if you can accept the 1970s type decor, the Half Moon at Elloughton has a large menu and a large specials board plus an early diners special board. We have always had great meals on the many times we have been there. Plus the beer is good!
Just dont go to jolly sailor newport, infact nowhere is any good in newport apart from the pizza shop. Even the chinese since martin has sold it has dropped in standard.
Me and the missus needed local so we chose Blackies club for the wedding party, needed a good sized stage for all the musicians and it holds up to 250 so it was big enough and the venue was free!Very impressive.

Strange how opinions differ. When we looked at Rudstone Walk with thought it was proper ****e - reminded me of a youth hostel. Been to Cave Castle for a friend's wedding and it was quality. As a wedding setting venue Rudstone Walk is pretty good. Inside the decor is decent, it's a bit lacking on the accommodation front. This is all made up though by the views out over East Yorks. The limiting factor is numbers though, or it was back in '02. We slummed it up and got married at Rudding Park.

Rudstone Walk is primarily for the views - I don't think there's any better views for a wedding venue locally. The decor inside Rudstone is really good, tidy, modern and well kept - versus Cave Castle which is in a fairly poor state of disrepair. Lacking significant investment.
