Not saying I wouldn’t take Amad as he’d clearly be our best player. It’s just not that simple any more tho. We don’t want to stifle the development of others just for 5 months of him, unless we think we have a good chance of automatics.

I thought the point you were making was that Amad would only come in if Roberts left.
My point was that it would be a shame as the two of them seemed to have a good understanding between them.

oh I see what you mean. Yeh I meant it more that there’s not really space in the squad unless somebody leaves. and Roberts seems most likely due to his contract situation, and demand.

I really hope we can get a deal with Roberts soon....he's a talent,and he suits us brilliantly. I see him and Abdou tussling for that position at the minute,which is great for us. Leaving the No 16 shirt free is a definate tease...we'll see what develops. If,and it is a big if,Amad was to come back to us in January,I would imagine it would be at the expense of Pritch. I thought he'd go in the summer....I'm glad he hasn't 'cos we need his quality and experience. However,he's at the top end of our age range.

To be fair I can see them playing together as their already seems to be an understanding developing between them. On Amad it would be great if he came back but not as a loan because we need to develop what we have and not what Man U need.

Another combination I am looking forward to is NR and AA only a glimpse so far but I liked what I saw, and if Roberts is doing a Ross then so be it. Clarke , Neil, Ballard, O/9, Ekwah and Jobe would worry me more if anyone should come calling in January, however whatever should transpire I have great faith in our professionalism these days and no single player holds the cards, if nothing else our handling of the Ross situation proved it.

I'm not hopeful on Amad...it would take us way out of our financial comfort zone to land him permanently. I agree 100% on developing what we have...I'm not a fan of the loan system and am really pleased that we only have one player currently in on loan. Amad is injured at the minute I think.

He would be perfect for rotation of the midfield, cover injuries, increase competition in the squad etc.

I'm not sure Evans will come back from his injury to a level we need, which is a crying shame as him fully fit gives us a different option in midfield and that calm, experienced head.

The one I don't know about is Matete, another one I would love to see improve and push for a start, but I do wonder if we have moved past him
