I know but you can't ignore the severity of his injury and the possible future implications. Maybe he'll be fine and I hope he is but it's a spin of the roulette wheel for buyers.

If he goes I hope he isn't. But I'm petty like that!

Moyes gave up virtually the minute he took the job. By the time we got to relegation it looked like the players hadn't been coached for months.
Nobody else seems to remember this disgusting dereliction of duty.
His biggest mistake was taking the job in the first place, I do think if he'd come in at the right time he may have done ok but the situation we were in the only suitable candidate was BSA and only then if he'd had shorts full support however I believe he'd given up by then anyway

Reactions: Pure River Slut
another one as-well i've seen people say Brentford, add in Brighton

Brighton 6 years net spend 12m
Brentford 7 seasons net spend was actually
-85m

so brentford made about 85m on players

I think the bit some folk won’t like is the 6 & 7 seasons element.

Our plan is 5, I believe, not 6 or 7 but also not 1 or 2. Luton made it in 3, but they won’t last. Gotta be patient

Into the last 48 hours of the window and I've heard no links at all to a DM so I presume that's not on the cards at this point and we'll be making do with what we've got.

Rusyn is the only thing that looks certain. The only other credible link I've seen is for Virginius but I'm not sure if that's happening or not. If it is, we'll have spent the best part of £8m which is quite an outlay. I wonder if the club will be looking to recoup that with Stewart or if a Stewart deal will be separate thing.

I still think we need 3 in (Rusyn, winger and DM) and then sales need like for like replacements.

It feels like the market has gone crazy and we might fall short. The value for money that our scouts are looking for just isn't there this summer.

I agree with a lot of that, Flash. It’s been a tough window but I’m still hopeful that the recruitment team can knock it out the park though. My expectations of what that would look like probably needs to come down a notch or two.

Be very surprised if a CM/CDM doesn't come in mate.

20 pages today, calm down lads <laugh> is it all Stewart stuff or has there been whisperings of an incoming as well?

On RS, if we can get £10m I'd snap their hands off. To be honest, £7.5m is decent money for him (depending how it is structured)
Southampton are sitting on millions, get it all up front then KLD can either keep it in his bank OR DO THE RIGHT THING, and buy that young striker they have been watching for weeks from France.

As supporters we want all the signings we've decided upon, that's fair enough.

The club has to decide what to do in a 'crazy market' and possibly ignore value for money. The problem is that, if you abandon your plan, you can end up in a Donald/Grigg situation.

I maintain Grigg was a much better striker than he showed here. He was just bribed to come and never wanted to be here. His rotten sulky attitude stunk the place out and affected the team spirit, by the end they couldn't even let him near the kids.

I'll see what today brings but am expecting at least one more signing and a loan. Some were predicting half a dozen would leave but I think we'll end up stronger than last year tbh .

We did well without Stewart, for much of last season, so let's go again and get behind a team that played their hearts out for us ...

... not pine for players who come for the money, never improve and just get older.

Ha'way the Lads!!!

I agree with this. It's easy for fans to have high expectations and criticise the ones who have to do the work for not matching your expectations.

But they're all working to a remit and the market this summer has changed that objective from difficult to almost impossible.

I think I'd rather we take a half step backwards this year if the alternative is a high risk gamble.

We've brought in assets like Hemir, Mayenda and Bellingham which will set us up for years to come (if not for the next few weeks to come) and we have to factor that in too. Patience is a virtue.
