Rak-Sakyi got on last night against Arsenal. Commentator mentioned his popularity amongst the Palace fans and he got a good reception. Not sure on the likelihood of that move happening now.

Out of most of them, Gooch would be a real shame to see go. Has been through it all with us over a decade.

Sometimes I forget he is only 27! I do think he performed really decent last year and covered many positions for us. Always gives max effort too, clearly has the club in his heart. I am not sure we have suitable cover in place to be letting him go personally.

Be a tough decision for the lad. His family, Mrs side are Sunderland to the bone. Any move would be a big change.

Personally, I hope they decide to take the gamble and go to the MLS. Live the dream and have the life, be better than a dump like QPR.
Gooch’s competitive spirit fired us back into a few games last year. A couple of feisty tackles and the team lifted. I’ll be sad to see him go

I wonder if Gooch goes then Dagba (?) from PSG in. Its gone very quiet on him since we were linked
I forgot about him. Probably not many 24 year olds called Colin. Hume is younger and more time to develop but we need quality competition for roles.

I think the Olise injury has scuppered any chances of him going out on loan this window. Shame, as I really like the look of him

I’d only seen stats before last night and in that cameo was enough to see what an exciting player he looks.

Shame as looks the sort we’d have loved as fans, confident, trying to run, direct, quick and getting after his man.

Was a really eye catching appearance even if nothing came of it as such.

Agreed. Gooch has regularly made a difference in games. We would not have got promoted without him after a hasty bid to sell him that January.

He isn't perfect, but nor are we. He made a difference often last season too. We are a stretch away from thinking we don't need lads like Gooch IMO.

And even when it was at its worst here, in the dog days of the chancers, unlike many wage collectors who were here, he always put it in. Hope he stays mesell, but if he goes , it's thanks snd all the best from me

I remember that last minute goal against Charlton. He's a top lad.

That was my first season back as a season ticket holder and the first season ticket for my son. That winner had him hooked, I've got a lot to thank Goochy for.

That's the special thing about this club. For your lad, that was it,can never go back. Mine too. It's why we can get 40k+ every week...as time goes on,it's handed down!

As a lot of folk have said we have to start and see out going’s now we all have our favourite players and whoever does leave will go with our thanks and best wishes for the future so its a onward and hopefully up from me
Feels as though Batth, Pritchard and Gooch are players the club want to leave so as to free up wages. Not really in the "model" so to speak, but fair enough if they aren't going to be playing every week.
The real resolve will be tested if Clarke goes and we don't replace him - hopefully KS isn't daft enough to accept a Burnley bid at 11pm on transfer deadline day then tell us all we couldn't get a deal over the line to replace him, before extolling the virtues of Ellis Taylor and telling us all how we aren't aligned to a traditional winger etc etc

If we have to sell, ****ing make sure we buy first

I don't necessarily think any of the "contract 3" will (or need to) be replaced.

Squad as it stands:

GK: Patterson, Bishop
RB: Hume, Huggins
CB: Ballard, Triantis
CB: O'Nien, Seelt, Batth
LB: Cirkin, Alese
CM: Evans, Ekwah
CM: Neil, Matete
RW: Roberts, Bennette, Gooch
CAM: Jobe, Pritchard, Dack, Rigg, Embleton
LW: Clarke, Ba
CF: Hemir, Stewart

Obvious shortages up front, but plenty of cover in the positions these 3 largely occupy although injuries will always play a factor and having someone like Gooch around who can cover 4 or 5 positions isn't a bad thing at all.....

Given all the transfer uncertainty and various rumours I thought i would ask Bing AI search to summarise our current transfer dealings.

The results are below.

Can you summarise sunderland AFCs 2023 transfer dealings?

Sure, here’s a summary of Sunderland AFC’s 2023 transfer dealings based on the web search results:

You can find more details and sources on these links:

1: Sunderland Completed Transfers, Done Deals & Signings in 2023/2024 2: Sunderland AFC - Transfers 23/24 (Detailed view) | Transfermarkt 3: The 28 SAFC players contracted for the 2023/24 season - Sunderland Echo

Thats wrong

I’m sorry if the information is incorrect. I’m only summarising what I found on the web. Can you tell me what is wrong and what is the correct information?

The players signed is incorrect as well as the reported fees and the sold players are either incorrect or happned in 2022. The loan players are also incorrect or happened in 2022

Oh, I see. Thank you for letting me know. It seems that the web sources I used are outdated or inaccurate. Do you have any reliable sources that can provide the correct information?

To be honest theres not a lot of accurate information on the web. I suppose BBC.co.uk/sports would be the most reliable, or SAFC.com

Thank you for the suggestion. I searched on BBC.co.uk/sport and found some more recent and reliable information on Sunderland AFC’s 2023 transfer dealings. Here’s an updated summary:

You can find more details and sources on these links:

1: Transfer news: Done deals in August 2023 - Neymar, Moises Caicedo … - BBC 2: Released players: Clubs announce summer 2023 retained lists 3: Dan Neil: Sunderland midfielder extends contract until summer of 2026 - BBC

As you can all see we have nothing to worry about!! I wonder if I asked the wrong questions though?
