As long as hes a good coach, not heard what his coaching style is like

Will always favor coaches who know n get the club but as long as they are the best candidate ability wise (or at least on par with others)

Always a balance

Sorry to do this again @Scout73 seen much of stansfield? His Numbers look canny
Good player, not sure hes ready for playing week in week out in the championship

Intelligent movement, good pace n he works hard for the team. He got better as the season wore on last season which is always a good sign.

Id rather him permanently than a loan as not sure hes a week in week out starter at min

This desperation to bring in any old striker reminds me of being a young lad and dating a lass you really knew wasn't your type, because you didn't currently have a girlfriend.

You take her out, spend money on her but she doesn't perform as you'd hoped despite a bit of coaching.
She can't take a hint and clear off so you're stuck with her ...

... then your dream girl becomes available but she sees you're fixed up and goes with someone else <doh>

Happened to me in Benidorm

From what I've read today, Mowbray was entertaining the idea of signing two strikers in this window, and I hope that's the case. He's alluded to a stopgap forward coming in on a loan basis, hopefully within the next few days. As mentioned, Stansfield is the latest link in that regard, which I think is a practical signing given our situation (decent experience and looks like a young player on the up) and hypothetically it would afford Speakman more time to get a real game-changer at the back end of the window when better players become available in the loan market or we've made some sales to be able to target an individual who's currently out of our reach, rather than trying to fill a Stewart-sized hole right now with a relatively unknown quantity. That gives us five forwards, when fit, but for the foreseeable future, I think Mayenda and Hemir would probably benefit more from some exposure in the U21's side to bring them up to speed and we can introduce them sporadically, and we're also sufficiently covered if LND leaves.

Woah so many posts to read :D

I love our model and support it 100%

I don’t think it’s being executed brilliantly so far this window but I also acknowledge that they are operating under extremely difficult circumstances.

I’d imagine the club would agree.

You don’t need to change your approach just because it’s difficult. You need to change it when it doesn’t yield results. And so far it’s yielding results and three losses (even five losses) doesn’t change that. It’s a long term plan.

We will keep learning and keep looking for opportunities. I for one applaud the club for not panicking and going out and damaging the good work and plans that are in place
