He’s more a target man for me. I’d prefer a Maja type smart finisherAshley Barnes would have done a good job for us if wed have shown any interest in him. Unfortunately Norwich signed him instead.

No, No, Yes and NoOver 10 pages today while I've been at work, can anyone sum up for me, please?
Anyone signed? Anything rumoured? Or was it just 200 posts of crap?
I think he’s worth a chance. Used to English football, improving, technically good and ready to step up.Supposed to be getting a striker in on loan tomorrow. Some rumours saying Jay Stansfield from Fulham
Really liked what I seen of him last season in the highlights. Tall, pacey, decent finisher.Sunderland, Millwall and QPR are among a host of clubs who are keen on signing Fulham’s Jay Stansfield, Football League World can exclusively reveal.https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/e...llwall-and-qpr-in-race-to-sign-fulham-player/

Or maybe batth just hasnt looked sharp in training, maybe his injury last season has really impacted him. We just dont know, think a few have commented and said batth didn't look quite right in preseason, we just dont know
Crap?! I will have you know that it is all finely constructed and considered prose.Bog of! You can trawl through the 200 posts of crap like the rest of us!
Yep flexibility n adaptability is key, theyll never stray to far away from the model, and i think most of us will be happy with that but agree that there needs to be flexibility
I found when i started coaching n scouting i lacked any flexibility, i had my idea on how to coach or scout a player n that was it. If i stuck to that thought process i wouldnt have got anywhere.
You learn as you go along and im sure (hoping) that speakman n co are doing the same
Mistakes will always happen, as long as we learn from them. I get folk saying we havent learned from them by not signing a striker yet (an experienced one as folk have asked for) but i know its not as simple as that. The transfer market for all teams, except the big teams plus saudi sides, have been so tough. My team finally signed a LB this week after being in discussion with him n his club since April!!
If its a loan signing we get then thats fine, as long as no stupid recall option in January, as long as its the right player that improves us
Im at the game on Saturday so still buzzing to see the lads play, always a good sign when you still have that buzz
Not transfer related so apologies for blocking up the thread, but I don’t get to go to games anywhere near as often as I’d like these days, I’m there this week, a rare day out with my dad, few drinks and getting behind whatever 11 we put out is what it’s all about, let’s just support those that are here and not worry about who may or may not be coming in, focus on what we can control, good atmosphere still a very good team here, 3 point’s Saturday and this place will be buzzing again just like the bulk of last season
I might be wrong but I think there's a large number of fans that ignore all this blx and just turn up to support the lads out on the field
“Throwing big boys money” around will get you fecked financially, what if we were propped up by a billionaire and what would happen if that billionaire grows disillusioned?
isn’t it better to grow a club to be self sustaining so that if KLD did decide to sell up its much more attractive to buyers than a club in debt.
Everton for years were ran sustainably, they never threw money around and progressed slowly. The new fella came in and chucked 500 million around like confetti and look at the state of them now !
We are ran well and have been told numerous times by the ownership that the club needs to be self funding, its not going to change.
AOL car park currently very busy. Reflection week for the academy lads, so hopefully it is busy due to new player(s) arriving.
He also played in friendlies tho, he got plenty of minutesYeah that could have been due to the fact it was announced in the press we would listen to offers and not stand in his way if he wants to go, and then leaving him on the bench in our friendlys.
He was also far better than some other clubs and the press would have you believeThat’s how I see it too.
I’d definitely have Cattermole back at the club in a coaching role for the youngsters. A lot of these kids, especially the local lads, will already see him as a role model regarding his attitude in the late part of his career with us.
He also wasn’t anywhere near as reckless on the pitch as some opposition clubs and the press would have you believe.
He also played in friendlies tho, he got plenty of minutes
Players will not listen to whats in the press, especially a player like him.
I would love batth to come back in and play class as hes one of my fave players but its not as simple as saying hes being forced out when we dont know the situation or how hes performing in training
I don’t think that’s true, I think he’s just not fit. He didn’t look great pre season and wasn’t very good vs Crewe. He’s always taken a game or two to get up to speed after an injury. I think it is likely we don’t want to extend his contract but that’s not the same as actively getting rid. It also seems that he would prefer to be closer to family so if he goes it’s not necessarily the club orchestrating that.Yeah he has which makes it all the more frustrating that hes warming the bench. How many other teams would drop their player of the season straight after the season ends and replace him with someone whos not a natural CB?
Its quite obvious were looking at a way to get rid of him which is also very frustrating
Yes he played against hartlepool, and was shocking so hardly made a case to start in the leagueYeah i know he did mate, he played with Pritch and development players in our games against Hartlepool whilst the first team were in the stands
As long as hes a good coach, not heard what his coaching style is likeI like a accountability and desire to win, less waffle and corporate speake. LBC is welcome into the safc coaching set up at any point.
The problem is getting an experienced decent striker to come in knowing he will be second fiddle once stewart is fit. Thats why broadhead refused to signYou try to have more than one senior striker at the club regardless if fit or not surely?
Every other team probably has a couple senior options at the club already so aren't as in need as we are
Yet Simms signed last summer and Gelhardt signed in January. The problem is getting an experienced decent striker to come in knowing he will be second fiddle once stewart is fit. Thats why broadhead refused to sign
Personally wouldn’t want this so early btwPerhaps the club see LBC as a potential successor for TM
Not hard to understand why he’s not playing well.Yeah he has which makes it all the more frustrating that hes warming the bench. How many other teams would drop their player of the season straight after the season ends and replace him with someone whos not a natural CB?
