Everton set date for Tom Cannon exit as £8m development emerges

Everton are ready to let Tom Cannon join Preston North End on loan next week, but only if other interested clubs do not first table offers for a permanent deal, according to Alan Nixon.

Preston are frustrated by waiting. However, Italian Serie B side Sampdoria are keen to take him permanently. Both Sunderland and Stoke have asked about the price for a full time buy. Leeds have also been keeping an eye on developments.

Would be a fantastic sign of intent but I don’t think it’s likely we will be paying £8m for him.

Surely it’s a deal up to £8m? One half season in the championship can’t make you an £8m player

Whole transfer market is over inflated at the minute, plus Everton are skint and will want to claw as much money in as possible to pay for the stadium and try and keep up with the rest of the league.

Plus strikers are at a premium. Unfortunately when good but not exceptional players are going for £50m+, £8m for a very good young home grown striker is nothing.
