Not having a dig at anyone and I hope this is taken as intended. I'm crazy busy at work today and love using this thread to find out any gossip or news on transfers.

Has there been anything today or are the 10 pages just debrief on whats needed following yesterday?
Hopefully we'll get some news soon mate

Sorry mate that's not accurate.

We had 66% possession, 11 corners, 149 attacks and 81 of those were deemed as dangerous attacks.

That's plenty to go off for a striker who knows his craft. The boy didn't work and didn't get into the right positions.
That's fair enough but what's stats don't tell you is our final ball, set piece delivery was absolutely abysmal. 11 corners, might aswell have had none.

We've been short of strikers since last summer. More than 12 months is surely enough time to fill the gaps in the squad. There is a great deal of bluff that comes out teh club as well. Do you recall Speakman trying to tell us all we didn't sign a another striker last season because they considered Dajaku as the 3rd striker?!? I mean that is beyond the ****ing pale
I do agree with you TC, I am making the point that no one will queue up to sell us their assets in a dog eat dog world.
The one thing I would say is Broadhead was excellent yesterday and we should have snapped him up if/when we had the chance

He turned us down last summer apparently, concerned he wouldn't get in the team ahead of Stewart and Simms. He was less than impressive at Wigan and I think the club passed on him in Jan when he was made available for permanent transfer.

Bit of an odd one

Could be he had something to prove yesterday, it will be interesting to see how he gets on the rest of the season.

So your saying we should just spend life living with caution and not spending money incase it doesnt work out? What do we pay our scouts thousands of pounds a year for?
Thats like not buying a new car incase it breaks down.. If we want out of this league we need to spend a good amount on a decent striker, simple as that imo.
We cant just keep buying U21 internationals and expecting them to take us up to the next level. As fans we deserve better instead of bargain basement shopping.
The plan was to be in the Premier League within 5 years we have had 2 years and missed out by a fraction, we are still on course to hit the target that was the initial aim, so proves the model is working so far, the owners and recruitment team aren't going to change the set up of their plan that they will look at as a success so far because some fans think we should be in the Premier league.
An average gate of 35000, at an average ticket price of £25 gives a total of 21M I've got no idea how much it cost to just run the stadium on a match day let alone the club as a whole but I bet there's not much left.
It doesn't really matter how many fans come through the gates as to revenue as that's not where the club make the money from, I'm not sure why after so long in L1 some fans think after 1 season in the championship we should be straight back in the Premier League, we over achieved last season and as I say we are still well on course for the target set by the owner when he first took over

Wonder which experienced established championship strikers were available to us this summer and their respective fees it would cost to bring them in because I’d be surprised to get a 15 goal striker for under £10m from other championship sides. Also, what if the club believe Stewart will be staying? TM comments make me think he will be, are the club going to spend big on a position they think we already have a quality option in even if he’ll miss the first couple of months, I don’t think so. I think we’ll get a striker in but don’t think it’ll be someone with championship pedigree. Hemir was poor yesterday, it was clarkes decision making and the teams deliveries that cost us yesterday in the final third imo.

We had the chance previously to sign him, not sure if it was permanent but he chose to go to Wigan on loan

I don't know why we didn't sign him, I read a few things in the media which I am reluctant to believe, but if as you say he chose to sign for Wigan over us then it was his choice and he had his reasons.

& years before we signed Ekwah for the CM position that we had desperately needed
