I don't know why we didn't sign him, I read a few things in the media which I am reluctant to believe, but if as you say he chose to sign for Wigan over us then it was his choice and he had his reasons.

I’m just getting used to the fact we aren’t going to spend big on transfers at least until we sell someone for a big fee and we definitely aren’t going to offer competitive wages for championship clubs pushing promotion. If we go out and spend £7-8m on a striker I’ll eat my words but I just don’t see it, as mentioned previously 2 of the promoted teams have wage bills that are considerably higher than ours yet we have twice their revenue.

Mogga saying we need to move players on to free up wages when we have one of the lowest wage bills in the league isn’t what you want to hear.

I understand the sustainability argument it just doesn’t make sense to me that clubs with 10k season card holders, no player sales to inflate revenue and owners who aren’t worth much on paper are outspending us.

Obviously I know f**k all from inside the club and how it’s ran, that’s just my pessimistic 50p worth.

The plan was to be in the Premier League within 5 years we have had 2 years and missed out by a fraction, we are still on course to hit the target that was the initial aim, so proves the model is working so far, the owners and recruitment team aren't going to change the set up of their plan that they will look at as a success so far because some fans think we should be in the Premier league.
An average gate of 35000, at an average ticket price of £25 gives a total of 21M I've got no idea how much it cost to just run the stadium on a match day let alone the club as a whole but I bet there's not much left.
It doesn't really matter how many fans come through the gates as to revenue as that's not where the club make the money from, I'm not sure why after so long in L1 some fans think after 1 season in the championship we should be straight back in the Premier League, we over achieved last season and as I say we are still well on course for the target set by the owner when he first took over
They said it was their intention though mate. I’d definitely rather we go up able to compete and cumulative growth gets us there, but saying they want us promoted and having no goal scorer don’t add up. At this point I think top 6 is probably unrealistic as even a quality Ukrainian or Chilean will need time to bed in and we’re weaker threat wise up top. Extra height and physicality should in theory help us concede less admittedly but we need a regular goal scorer to go one better in my view.

Baffles me that people are blaming the striker when we didn’t put a single decent ball into the box for him or play him through when he made a good 3-4 runs in behind first half.

If Pritchard started the match he would’ve created chances for Hemir.
One of the positives (hopefully) is that we have Dack to play soon. His goal threat might help the striker and wingers.

Definitely. I think a lot of people are underestimating him, if he can stay fit he’ll be quality for us. Just touching on what you mentioned about height, offensively it means nowt if Roberts and Clarke can’t beat the first man!

Aye I meant defensive vulnerability as much as anything. Clarke and Roberts didn’t have the same overlapping players. Amad’less and Gooch’less or course but also we seemed to have a different system.

Totally agree about Pritchard starting, although Bellingham played well, Pritchard gives more creativity.

We've got Stewart coming back in a couple of month as well let's hope he's back to his best as he isn't going anywhere this year

Now that is something I’m looking forward to. Him on form and yesterday was a different game. Still think he needs competition and a suitable option after a knock or tiredness. Hemir needs easing in.
Out of interest what makes you say he’s definitely not leaving? Am I right in saying you have a connection to him? I think it’s the right choice for the club to make. We won’t get much worth having for him in his current state and him leaving isn’t the right time. Better we have his performances.

I sometimes think Pritch is better coming on for the last half hour when the game opens up. There'll definitely be games when he starts.
I think he and Batth will be away this window. Pritchard is a misery at the best of times, so if he thinks he won't be starting games he'll want a move. Will be on decent money too, so him and Batth should free up some wages

Possibly mate, though they can still do a job for us.

Got to hope we see some movement this week. There is nothing out there at the mo, not even from the wind up pretend "i'm hearing" knob heads.........
Probably sign someone today then, they tend to just happen these days. ( although with a game tomorrow Thursday or Friday would be more likely)

With all of the whingeing because we lost yesterday (one fecking game <doh>), why don't we all just support 'United, 'City, Arsenal or Liverpool . . . . that'll surely be much easier :emoticon-0100-smile

Maybe one of us should let the hierarchy at the club know how easy it is to sign whoever we might need, 'cos it's obviously fecking easy to identify and sign the right players and they don't even realise . . . . the useless twats :emoticon-0112-wonde
