I think he’s our best playerBuzzing with the ballard news , he's an absolute beast .
To be fair we don't know how much he has been offered by us, or any other team, other than speculationHe’s on less than £3k a week. We offered him around £10k a week. There’s more than a fair few championship strikers who are a lot worse than him on over £20k a week.
Not sure anyone knows the exact ins and outs or if they do I’ve not heard them but if Stoke offered £20k and we offered £10k then he’s within his rights to try and get closer to the £20k a week to stay in my opinion. We’d all do the same to better our wage if a competitor offered us twice our salary.
With the greatest respect, those figures are pure speculation. He’s on less than £3k a week. We offered him around £10k a week. There’s more than a fair few championship strikers who are a lot worse than him on over £20k a week.

Seems strange if he's off that he's been given a squad number.Won't be in the squad on Sunday as not in the country
I wouldn’t go to the match tomorrow if I was you mateI think I would like to see Ballard as captain tomorrow. I know Batth and O’Nien have both been captain at different points in 2023, but I see our CB pairing as Ballard plus one other from: Batth, O’Nien, Triantis, and Seelt.
I’m expecting Connor Chaplin to start upfront tomorrow, small pacy striker. I think Baath is likely to miss out as he’s less suited to this opposition. Would start Batth against QPR/Milwall. Would maybe even bring Baath on tomorrow if we are winning and Ipswich bring on Hirst. I’m bullish on Triantis and Seelt as they seem to combine the best bits of Batth/O9, but think they’ll be eased into the team.
Rather than changing captain depending on who is playing, would be nice to keep it settled as Ballard.

The facts we do know is that Stewart hasn't signed a contract yet and may not sign a contract.
You say we offered 10k, I heard we offered him 15k. The joys of rumours eh?
No offence to the new players, but this is my favourite signing of the entire window!!!Brilliant news… again. Still had effectively 3 years left and the clubs forward thinking again. Players clearly believing in this, roberts and Clarke next would be class.
Sunderland: Tony Mowbray admits exits possible in coming weeks
15 hrs ago
Sunderland are targeting a busy end to the window, with a striker and a midfielder at the top of the club's transfer wishlist and the club weighing up their options in other areas such as on the flanks, with Isaac Lihadji set to leave.
But as the Wearsiders continue their efforts to "remould" certain departments in the squad, Mowbray accepts that exits are also very possible.
"I think there's a chance but I don't know the answer to where or how that will happen, but I do think there's a chance," said Mowbray when quizzed on possible departures between now and the September 1 deadline.
"I do think we could probably utilise salary for different positions on the pitch if we're trying to remould. But it's very difficult to talk about things like that because the phone has to ring.
"We're not out there pushing our players out the door. If the phone rings and it's right for the club and we feel pretty strong in one position but we're a bit empty in another, we might feel it's the right thing to move him out and use that salary or to sell him and use the money to fill this one. That's what football clubs have to do and footballers understand that.
"And it might work out best for them. They might go somewhere else and get a better salary and then they get what they want and we got what we want with a player in a different position who helps with our squad and the balance of it."
Mowbray added: "Let's see how the next few weeks rolls by before the window shuts at the end of August. But I'd be pretty sure there'll be some movement around our squad in the next few weeks."
Then yadda yadda yadda Ross Stewart, blah blah Jack Clarke, Ballard - but he’s since signed a lovely new deal.

seems to be on the cusp of real player/bit of a sicknote....a huge asset if we can keep him fitOnly thing for me is that I want him to play 40 games. No injury. Was always concerned when he went over last season. That's needs to go away. Need that feeling of him being totally robust.
