Would be great newsWe certainly don’t need another right back, but it would suggest someone is away if it’s true.
Gooch most likely.

…. must not get drawn in…. must not get drawn inWould be great news

I'd be pissed off if Gooch left personally. Thought he had a good season last year. Can play in numerous positions and lives and breathes the club.…. must not get drawn in…. must not get drawn in
Because we need strikers, not more defenders.? Why
We need quality players and if the club thinks we can improve by bringing a certain player in then they should do itBecause we need strikers, not more defenders.
You should also prioritise. Otherwise we may have 10 good defenders because they were availableWe need quality players and if the club thinks we can improve by bringing a certain player in then they should do it
Which we are looking at. Just because we are going for a rb, doesn't mean we are not pushing other deals throughYou should also prioritise. Otherwise we may have 10 good defenders because they were available
Note I’m not saying we shouldn’t go for this fella, but what Billy is intimating is we have more important positions to look at.
We had a poor defensive record last season and ended it playing Roberts at right back. Huggins, while a seemingly good player, cannot be relied upon to stay fit. Dare I say similarly Cirkin and Alese are both pretty injury prone. We definitely need full back cover and this lad can play both sides and would be a serious upgrade on GoochBecause we need strikers, not more defenders.
You can work on more than one deal at once, if this has progressed quicker than a forward deal that doesn’t mean we have prioritised itYou should also prioritise. Otherwise we may have 10 good defenders because they were available

The Driving forward part of your post was often forgotten last season.Clarke is much more direct and drives forward. His goals tally says it all
I get that but if a quality player becomes available you try n sign them. You dont say 'hes not a striker so lets leave it', if they improve the team and the squad we go for it.You should also prioritise. Otherwise we may have 10 good defenders because they were available

? Why
Just as we're trying to take good young players from other clubs we have to accept bigger clubs will try to do that with ours ...
... if Clarke goes we have to be grown up and not eat our play-doh in temper.
If he has been flagged as someone who could be a key player for us then I don’t see why we wouldn’t go for him.
The data analysis we do now seems to be incredibly thorough, although I agree it’s definitely not a position we are short in.[/QUOTE]
That was my thought.
It is. Very much so. Hence why the clubs policy is fees spent on 24 and under.Because it's a position we have covered....and,at 24,it's not a development place.
Great news????
