An ITK on the Preston forum has heard the same as Upthere (that Sunderland are at the front of the queue for Cannon).

The supposed ITK reckons they can't afford/not willing to pay the rumoured £1m loan fee.

At least if we do pay the loan fee, Everton can't then recall him in January.

Mr Sunderland. Couldn’t think of anyone more deserving. The work he’s
Rumoured to be £1m. Can't see us paying that when we're paying less for permies.

Not sure about that mate.

Nixon reckons Preston are putting together a decent package for Cannon.

He also seems to be suggesting Stoke are interested too.

He ****ing loves covering all bases doesn't he...
Stoke are just good click bait because of Neil. In league one every player we were linked with was also interesting Wigan and Portsmouth. Boring made up rivalry reporting basically.

The loan fee might make sense. If the club feel Hemir and Mayenda will be first and second choice in a year but want somebody to support for a year. Better than perhaps bringing in another perm the club arent 100% on, or the one they want isnt available right now. Speculation of course, but I can see some sense in paying a fee.
