You don't pass or fail a medical, it's a risk assessment based on can that player play for the duration of the contract

I agree with this but in addition I would like your thoughts on who you would pick between Frigan and Cannon and why. I have my own thoughts but would love to know your view.
Hard to say which one id pick as ive seen cannon a lot and hes always impressed. Frigan ive only seen highlights of and he looks quakity as well

I think cannon would slot in straight away to improve the team but frigan probably has the higher upside - therefore, sign both!

Since you’re doing a Q&A session :emoticon-0105-wink:, as you move in top flight football circles and being an SAFC fan it no doubt comes up in conversation, is what we’re doing as a club getting noticed around Europe? Are we starting to get a bit of a reputation?

Yes 100%, i have spoken to a couple of scouts who said that they very rarely had scouts at sunderland games before as they lacked talent or players with upside. Now they always have scouts at sunderland games and its harder to get scouting tickets than it was before.

We are getting a great reputation for the way we recruit, i spoke to our head of data analytics and he says how impressed he is with how we use data.

Everything seems to be so so positive in n around the club at the minute and we are getting a great reputation for how we develop players, how we recruit, how we use data and most importantly how we treat players

Great stuff. Exactly what I wanted (and if I'm honest, half expected) to hear. Thank you.

Tremendous that mate, what a difference a few years have made with competent owners and a proper vision.

I love how it doesn’t matter how young a player is here, if he is good enough and physically strong enough he will get a chance. We may even beat our youngest lineup last year!

I’m 43 now and I’ve never been this excited by my team.

I think we will beat our youngest side this season with the likes of jobe and rigg getting game time

Same as you dont think ive ever been this excited for the future of my club

Watching Reid's team was exciting after the play-off final and those 2 7th place finishes and the football we played but watching this team and the whole ethos of the club feels different. It is a seriously exciting time to be a Sunderland supporter and I can't get enough of it!

That team was so exciting to watch but it was build on brittle foundations. Once we lost Quinn we never had an alternative or a plan B

Exactly! That's what excites me with this team - we lost both Stewart and Simms last season and still found a way to play some of the best football I've ever seen us play! I could be pushing it a bit here but I don't think we would've scored THAT Clarke goal at Reading last season if Stewart was playing

That team was certainly good to watch but I felt last season was so much better especially how we stuck to it with all the injuries

I wonder if clubs after Stewart would take all the medical data into consideration if he's not fit enough to pass a full medical? Then structure the deal say small fee up front increasing with games played?

Let's be honest, Stewart wants more money, we won't pay it or break the wage structure (quite right as well) so move him on and get the 2nd striker before the season starts

A bit ago, but I think Paul Bracewell struggled to pass a medical when he came back to us and when he went to that lot.

Doubt that would happen with Stewart though. The more time passes, the more it looks as if has had some terrible advice from his agent.

A good one will always say sign the first big deal you get offered. The rest will, or might follow. The lad might never get one now.

That was my thoughts as well - there is something about Frigan though that shouts quality, the way he is positive in his movement and turns with defenders on him.
