Everton striker Ellis Simms in talks with Coventry City, with a deal expected to be agreed by the weekend for him to join the Championship club

Other clubs interested but Coventry in pole position

Don't know if it's already been posted, don't look at Twitter much, must have been bored, but just seen Jordan Henderson's post of the 4th July, have to say he's bloody fit!
He says...
"Don’t dream of winning. Train for it!"
Also noticed that Jobe Bellingham commented on the post...
"come back to sunderland??"
The Henderson account is real, looks like the Jobe account is also.

Good business by Coventry like, they’ll have the money to spend once the gyokeres deal goes through

Everton striker Ellis Simms is close to joining Coventry City on a permanent deal.

The Championship side have indicated they will meet Everton’s valuation for the 22-year-old, believed to be between £6-8 million, with a medical likely to take place on Friday. The striker has also attracted interest from fellow Championship sides Ipswich Town, Swansea and Sunderland https://theathletic.com/4671350/2023/07/06/everton-ellis-simms-coventry/

Not 8 million quids worth they haven’t <laugh>
I’ll stick my neck out and say he will be a flop.

I think £7m for Simms isn’t that bad a deal. But at the same time can see why we might not see the value in it. Especially having not sold anybody yet.
That's the key. They've now all of a sudden got money to burn. They're selling a player for 20m, got in a replacement for less than half that, who could potentially get near the total Gykoreres scored. No way we pay 6 or 8m on a player without having sold anyone.

Coventry are set to sign Ellis Simms on permanent deal from Everton for £8m fee, confirmed — while Sporting are at final stages of Gyökeres deal.

Simms will undergo medical tests on Friday, as per

.

The same people who are laughing at Simms going for 7m wouldn't sell Stewart for the same price.

The former has a similar record in the championship and doesn't have the injury issues.

I do think RS is the better player but goals are king. ES did great here. Price isn't far off market value.
I don’t think they’re in the same boat personally and Ellis I think has had a few injuries has he not ? and unforced spells away from first team football.
