Batth going seems like have legs, would you be happy with those we’ve brought in given how injury prone Ballard and alese have been or should we be looking to get another older head in should he go?

Would be a poor decision to let Batth go he was arguably the player of the season for us. It's my opinion that if he'd stayed fit we'd have gone up.

Apart from that yeah much like CM I think it's always smart to have an experienced CB in the squad.

Want Batth to stay. He had a brilliant season and hes the experienced head for the young CBs to learn from.

It'd be an odd one, they talked about adding experience in key areas of the field and CB is one where you have to feel its critical. To lose Wright and Batth would be a mistake.

Wants to move for family reasons according to RTG which is fair enough I guess, be interesting to see how we approach this

Yeh there’s no way anyone is paying £20m for him this window. So he either stays or we accept less. And it will probably come down to whether he asks to go or not. Hopefully he doesn’t but I never rule anything out when it comes to footballers asking for moves
I’m catching up with the thread so sorry if you’ve already answered this but why do you say that?

He’s a good age, has a long contract and the basic stats he posted last season were exceptional. That’s without even considering his superb general performance.

There’s a load of precedent for such players going for bigger fees and transfer costs are only inflating at the minute.

We also need to remember that a hefty proportion of any fee will be going to Spurs so the amount we receive will need to be sizeable enough to compensate that.

Aye well it's different if he wants to go for personal reasons. No point clinging on to unhappy players. Do you know any specifics, has he recently had a kid or something?

If Batth goes we'd need to add some experience to the back line, more so with Wright going. Experience to the squad in general in fact.

Wonder if they'd look at Daniel Ayala on a free

I don’t mate, just family reasons has been mentioned on ready to go from posters who usually are pretty bang on be a Shame like a wise head will be needed in the back line for me, sonny Bradley has been released from Luton similar build and style to bath 2 years younger, could do worse

My worry about this transfer window is that we lose a few of our key players and we start the next season with an untried and exceptionally inexperienced group. That said, I do trust the recruitment team, they have a knack of picking the odd gem. Just hope we don't lose too many, but I fear 3 will leave
Just a bit of fun but who’s the three? I reckon matete on loan, and a few fringe maybe, but of the core unless serious money comes in can’t see any going anywhere.

I think Clarke will go and also reckon Stewart will go. If West Ham come in for Ballard it would be a great opportunity for the lad. I wouldn't surprise me to see Pritchard and Matete leave as well

Prehab and Magnus have a great record on ITK info

Tin hat on, and happy to be proved wrong, has Weatsheaf ever got anything right? I remember proposed takeovers and the Roy Keane stuff, all turned out wrong

When was the last time Nixon got something about us right? He links a player joining or leaving pretty much daily, but it never seems to transpire, except when it's already widely known it'll happen.

Batth was excellent for us last season, exactly what we needed at the time. But he's 33 in September and will most likely be gone next summer anyway. If he wants to go for personal reasons, then I wouldn't begrudge him it.

We have 4 young centre backs who will all be looking to start (Ballard with 2 seasons experience at this level) and then O'Nien, Anderson and Johnson as well.

We can't have so much experience in every position and also be the team to give youth a chance. I wouldn't replace him personally.

It’s been said a thousand times, take anything with a pinch of salt, no need to call someone out for trying to bring some info and enjoyment to the board. Wheatsheaf brings a lot to the board and it would be a worse place without him. We need people like him or the board would be very bland. We have some cracking info on here and I think Wheatsheaf is part of that.

If Batth wants to go for personal reasons then I trust the club to do the right thing by him and as much as we will miss him, I won't begrudge him going. Family comes first no matter what.

Question is, do we then need a replacement? I'd say it's not a big priority with the 2 new CB signings adding to 09 and Ballard. Anderson potentially needs a loan spell, but still gives us 4 CB's for 2 positions add in Hume, Cirkin and Alese who could play there and we are ok for options even if we played the odd game with 3 centre halfs
