100% this, said it few times.

Yes we want to make profit on players...but his value may not be great...sometimes despite our model we will have to chance our arm...next season is chance our arm time with RS as he could be the difference...it could go wrong...hey ho...we wont get anywhere if we dont take few risk & this one is kinda low....him signing a new 4 year deal on a large wage increase, then finding out hes either not the same player or he gets crocked again is a larger risk

You've very succinctly set out my feelings on the matter.
Don’t think he will be a negative influence, let’s get him fit and playing and see where we get to at the end of this year.
Yes, someone like Rangers could potentially sign him on a pre-contract in January for next season but that is a risk worth taking.

We seem to talk about LND recovery from injury / fitness as though it's an unknown. He's been working through a rehab programme.
Surely the physios expectation of what he should be capable of and when, which will have been factored into any contract discussions.

that can be taken into account but everyone recovers differently. With something like the Achilles you can’t feck about and if he gets a recurrence it’s disastrous.

Yes.I get that and you're right of course. I was trying to make the point that many seem to think nothing on his contract/possible transfer will happen until he's come back from the injury and played a dozen games, which I don't think is the case.

Reactions: Robertson
Would folk be happy with Begovic as back up to Patterson, with Bass going on loan?

Only one I can think of who fits @Jarca 's mention of a PL keeper coming in
