From what ive been told he is likely to go out on loan this season. Not sure who to or anything like that but ive been told he will be going out on loan

He is a very talented lad, dont know his best position yet as sometimes gets lost in the centre of the pitch but is unreal with the ball at his feet

Good stuff mate. I expected City to treat him like they did Foden and think his development was better in their first team training environment. Gundoghan moving on leaves them 1 short I think too. Personally would like to see him play games because he is fun to watch, be great if he came here and if he is loaned out you would think City would have us on their list of preferred destinations.

Why do fans instantly think the three clubs coming down are nailed on with a chance of going straight back up?
Burnley did it, the other two weren't at the races.
For those able to look back over the last few seasons, I'm not clever enough, be interested in knowing how many did go straight back up.
These clubs are relegated for a reason, they're not good enough...sell off their main assets ie Madison etc so why are they instantly favourites?
Burnley took a gamble and completely changed their management and playing style and it worked, never a guarantee it'll happen again.
We've kept the neuculis of our squad, added the missing height and beef so why wouldn't fans be optimistic, can't understand this well it might go tits up, the world could end tomorrow just enjoy our upturn while it's here ffs.

And in the case of Leicester this isn’t your normal relegation for me, it’s not a case of a bad owner or awful attitude. They just had a shocker of a season and didn’t back Rodgers in the transfer market sufficiently. They’ve not long built a state of the art £150m training complex so they aren’t going to want to stick around in the championship not receiving PL big bucks.

It’s also rare that a team relegated from the Prem doesn’t win the Championship, especially when they reinvest. The last I can think of is Wolves who spent an absolute fortune to get promoted. One team reinvested last season and they walked the league.

Aye he really is fun to watch, im watching the france u21 vs norway u21 game from the other day, later today to scout a couple players so will see how he did

My club has a great working relationship with city so hoping we might get him lol, im trying to get our director of football to get him and borges on board this season - discussions are ongoing with both

Batth was a regular for Stoke in the lead up to us signing him, in fact he won their player of the month in the November.

He was on the bench most of the season behind Souttar and Ostigard before signing for us. Played about half the fixtures in the season before.

Probably did take a decent paycut to join us though.

How though they’ve sold players for some massive fees their net spend can’t be high over the last 5 or so years so surely the wages situation would be fine if other clubs are spunking hundreds of millions without really bringing anything in via player sales ie West Ham up until now, Wolves, ****s up the road..??

No just that Utilita have a multi year deal on the kids shirts. My reading of that was that it kept the option open to us to have a betting company on the adult shirts for the same period. As others have mentioned though, it could be that Utilita are then ready to step up to main sponsors once SpreadEx deal ends.

That’s the big one for me, I think we’re decent all over the pitch but I’d love to bring in a decent 6 to sit in front of the defence, pick the ball up and dictate the game from midfield.

M’Vila/Henderson would be absolutely perfect - I know there’s next to no chance though.

Kristjaan Speakman's message as Jobe Bellingham sets out on his Sunderland journey

Kristjaan Speakman says Jobe Bellingham's decision to join Sunderland is a significant vote of confidence in the club's project.

The 17-year-old put pen to paper on a long-term contract last week, and joined his new teammates for pre-season training on Monday. Bellingham has had significant transfer interest for a long period of time, but has opted to join Sunderland, where there is a commitment to giving young players opportunities within a progressive playing style.

Speakman said that the atmosphere at the Stadium of Light was a big factor in Bellingham's decision, with the midfielder watching the 2-1 win over Luton Town as the move neared.

The Sporting Director also said it was important to let him develop away from comparisons to his older brother Jude, who recently joined Real Madrid.

"Jobe is trying to be the best version of Jobe," Speakman said.

"Whether it's a young player whose Dad had a career in the game.. you get these scenarios that happen. The challenge for Jobe is not to be better than this person or that person, just to be the best he can be. I think one of the reasons he has come to Sunderland is that there's a really smart fanbase that understands what the players here are trying to achieve, and they really get behind them.

"One of things that's really interesting is that he's really taken by how powerful the matchday experience is here, and for Sunderland to be able to attract a young talent like that says loads about the football club. We're talking about an England U18 player, who has captained that side, who to a certain degree could probably have gone just about anywhere he wanted.

"We should be really proud that he's chosen Sunderland and we have to get behind him. My request, if you like, would be 'let's give him the support and let's make sure that we get the best of him'. Let's try and stay away from that natural thing of comparing him to other people, because I don't think that's very helpful."

Bellingham will likely make his first appearance when Sunderland start their pre-season fixtures next weekend.
