I think we are going to anyway I really do. We've addressed our weakness last season very early in window couple of loans of quality and I believe we are going to storm it anyways. Our fully fit squad last season would have took us up. Even better equipped this season watch us go.

With them three we'd be looking at 100 points plus tbh.

Mad how much people are underrating the league this year... It will be very very tough, make no mistake. If we get playoffs again we've done very well, imo.

Yep. Championship was poor last season, gonna be very difficult this year but I still think we’ll do well. The 3 promoted teams who’ve came down are a LOT better than the 3 who came down the season before.

With all due respect, I don't think people are underestimating this league. Its just that everyone is seriously excited about the team we now have. Last season, we had a bunch of players where the majority hadn't played in this league before and had the youngest team in that league. The expectations, rightly or wrongly have gone up. Everyone is basically thinking the same - if we can finish 6th in our first season, where are we going to finish this season?

Our squad is looking promising but there’s still good teams in the division. You have to assume the 3 relegated teams doing what Burnley done last season and signing a load of players with the money they get from a few big player sales.

Last year we made the play offs with the lowest ever points total for 6th place in the championship and nobody really spent any money because of financial restrictions post Covid.

Of course there is. The owners of the teams who came down will want them to go straight back up and that's gonna be the same as the owners of the teams who finished in the top half, including us. Let's just enjoy the team we have and see where we finish. I haven't looked forward to a season this much for ages!

Love to see us reach the point by end of season where Danny Bath, Pritchard, Evans and O’Nien are just backup options while even say Roberts is fighting for his place. That would put us in a cracking position to push on if we go up. Still not convinced about Diallo coming back. He’d be brilliant for one more season then leave a gap we haven’t developed somebody to fill. Only way I’d take him is with an option to buy if we get promoted.

Not for me mate.

Leeds are a basket case of a club. Lads I know who support them are dreading it. No manager and Big Sam trying to appoint himself as top dog. Players looked absolutely fed up last year. Owner doing god knows what with the stadium.

Southampton appoint Russel Martin who has flatlined. I liked him, but he has not progressed at all. Massive ask for him to go top 2 in my opinion. They will be ransacked for players late in the window as well. Team stuffed with players that when mid to low end teams get desperate in the last week will sign.

Leicester are the interesting one. Maresca is an interesting appointment, but could just as easily flop as fly. But if they hang on to a core spine they will be a tough nut to crack.

Where I think the league opens up is the likes of Millwall, Blackburn, Coventry. I dont think they can keep pace with what we are doing. Middlesborough might be worth keeping an eye on with Carrick in charge, but they will need loanees.

I think the league may open up much more in terms of top 3 than it did last year. At this point I see no Burnley, or even Sheff Utd. Time will tell.

I am surprised to see Baath listed mate. Couple of other posts I have seen talking about him on the way down the pecking order. The lad was unreal last season. Best centre back at the club by some distance for me, based on all we have seen. If he plays 40 odd games this year we wont be far off at all for me. 33 this season, not old for a centre back with legs around him.

When Burnley came down they'd been a stable club for years and just had a dip. Southampton could be another Sunderland or Derby and Leicester will probably have to lose a fair few high earners ... would a recent title winner have relegation clauses, dunno. Leeds look chaotic to me.

I remember people saying this league would be a massive test for our squad but, despite losing half of the team through injury, we almost made the PL ...

... yes it'll be tough but I don't see any reason to be pessimistic.
