It’s one thing playing hardball, it’s another alienating and essentially forcing the hand of a premium asset.

Stewart could easily be talked about in the £30million bracket had he stayed fit all season and bagged 20 plus (which he would have, and then some).

You can’t buy another Stewart, there simply isn’t one on the market right now.

That said, we can play and prosper without him, if he is to go we want a big fee, we get **** all if he’s not tied down.

How do you know there's no other Stewart's in the market? Nee ****er had heard of him when Harvey and Speakman brought him in.

What a waste of a lad in his prime.

That said, they be paying him million a week or whatever so can’t blame the lad.
Aye. It's a statement signing for sure, though. The Saudis are already going a lot harder at it than the likes of the USA ever have done. How long before we see the Saudi league on Sky/BT Sport?

There's genuine quality in that league and they arent running out of money any time soon. I can see this growing rapidly over the next 12-24 month. It should be worrying all the football authorities.

There's a thread over the road which has a similar opinion and reckons it's very much a possibility.
a way to look at it is

we want him back
he wants to come back
we've been excellent for his development
he'll hopefully be in a team fighting for the league

you could loan him to a prem team who's just been promoted who's very likely be struggling every week

give him us back for a year go up, we then might be more tempted to give them the money the want if the were to sell

if not the will have a guaranteed prem loan at a club who he's already clicked and loved at with another year's experience under his belt

It's an outside chance that he will be back but it's not an outrageous one. He definitely loved it here and I reckon we got under his skin. It will be late in the window if it does happen. Will have to keep an eye on who Utd bring in in his position. They are linked with Pickford for 45m today so maybe Ten Haag is sorting it out from the back first.

if man u give the go ahead amad will be back
Anything on a further striker or an experienced midfielder?
Also contracts for Roberts & O’Nien (I presume Stewart isn’t on the table at the moment with his injury still healing)?

Diallo will be a ridiculous signing - and then if we sign those two additional types above plus new contracts for those two players we’d be in a very strong position.

Am I the only one whose a bit fed up hearing the what ifs in the Ross Stewart saga.
He'll either sign or move on and we'll all find out in due course.
I know it's an opinion forum but isn't there anybody else we can be talking endlessly about cos this subject has been done to death imo.
No, you're not the only one.

Over the moon with the Semedo signing! Big strong centre forward who will only improve. Was sitting on the patio with a coffee this morning just after it was announced then my 2 step daughters arrived with some SAFC clobber and some Haribo for Fathers Day. Now having a beer in the hot tub happy days! Over the moon with our business so far and can’t wait to see who is next through the door. Hope all the dads have had a great day!

Got out of church at 1pm to check the updates, couldn't wait to watch the Semedo youtube highlights with my son. He looks the business... Tall, fast, strong on the ball, in the air, can find top bins, a pass, and good penalty taker. Just imagine the spine of our team with Ballard, Batth, Alese, Ekwah, Bellingham and Semedo. Hopefully, Stewart gona stay....

Hhhaaawwwwaaaaayyyyyyy the lads
