27 apps for Nice who finished 9th in L1, 4 goals. I've never followed his career but I don't think he's another rodwell. Just never recovered from his move to Chelsea imo
My first reaction to a move for him is no. I dont see him wanting it to be honest, and I cant imagine our wages structure being anywhere near.

My second is it could be the sort of move that works well for us if it did happen. It may allow Pritchard to move on if that is his wish. He has a lot of talent and ability and as a 10 in this division could be very good indeed. Would bring goals for sure. Whether he has the legs for a high press I am not so sure mind.

On balance I would err on the side of a No, but would be an interesting debate in the recruitment team if it was a realistic chance.

Why's Maja going on a free would be my question.

Out of contract and they can’t afford to renew.

If you read up on Bordeaux, initially they were booted out of Ligue 2 last season last minute ‘proof of funds’ kept them in.

In France only top 2 divisions are allowed to be fully pro, and if you can’t show can finance this you are hoofed out, so they very nearly started in 3rd tier.

3rd or 4th biggest club in France by the way, just been a disaster plus few years.

Barkley will go PL or Old Firm. His career hasn’t panned out but as a 10 with the players we already have he’d potentially be sensational.

We won’t ever find out as it ain’t happening.

Correct! We should never go back to those days.

Now that the party is in full swing, I hope someone takes away the punchbowl! Heightened expectations will over-pressurize these lads. If, like me, you believe the model overachieved last season, then some regression to the norm is to be expected. Moreover, who will supply the magic if we kick off w/o Clark, Stewart, and Ahmad?

Roberts is a fine replacement for Amad. Stewart and Clark won't be leaving for cheap so, if they're not here, it means we've had a big cash injection and I trust the recruitment team to find decent replacements

I share the concern that expectations are possibly too high at the moment.

We absolutely could get promoted, and it 100% should be our aim. But its going to be a tight division. We could have a good season and finish 8th.

I just want to keep enjoying watching my side play football. Sounds stupid but the pride I got watching the lads play last season, if they keep that up I don't really mind what happens.

Obviously I'd love to get promoted. But I just want to keep up this connection I have with the team. That's genuinely my main priority for this season. I want to see growth in the team and players. If that keeps happening the results will happen.

I read Mbappe may be sold. I realise he is probably heading to Spain, but I would love to see him in this country. He is a brilliant footballer. Put him in a Manchester United shirt and I can see them immediately much closer to Man City. Same with Liverpool although I doubt they have the money. Arsenal would be a brilliant move for him as well, but again money is key.

I wouldn’t have Maja back. He chose to leave us. We’ve got a group of players here now that love wearing the shirt so let’s just keep it that way.

Kebano would be astute business IMO.
TBF, there has always been loads clamouring for M'Vila to return despite the fact we agreed a pre-contract with him to join in January and then he backed out.

A lot has changed in 5 years mate. He was on less than 1k a week, and the club only began negotiating with him in December. Should have been sorted way before.

Sunderland: Everton weighing up future of Ellis Simms

https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/s...weighing-future-ellis-simms/?ref=ebls&nid=937

…. Simms featured 11 times for Everton in the second half of the campaign and scored a crucial goal in the 2-2 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, but he played just 10 minutes of football in the last seven games of the Premier League season, with the Toffees eventually staying up on the final day thanks to a 1-0 win over Bournemouth.

Dyche is now planning for his first full term in charge at Goodison Park and warned that Everton have a "massive" amount of work to do this summer if they're to avoid another season of struggle.

A striker is a priority for Dyche, who wants senior support for Dominic Calvert-Lewin - which will leave Everton with a decision to make on Simms.

The striker is entering the final 12 months of his contract so if Everton are not convinced that the striker can become a regular at Goodison, now would be the time to cash in.

…. In January, when Sunderland were hoping to resign Simms late in the window, Mowbray said: “Ellis Simms, if he comes back will be huge for this football club, because he gives us a focal point at the front end of the pitch. He scored some massively important goals before he was recalled to Everton."
