Cracking news that. I think he has more potential than Pickford had at the age. Could easily be a top 4 keeper 3 or 4 years if he keeps progressing.

I think this is spot on, and also absolutely fine. He will be 5th choice but we've essentially signed the replacement for Ballard in 12-18 months.

I'm delighted he wants to stay, but I really don't agree with that comment. Pickford played for England at the same age. He'd played 25 times at England youth levels and played 30 times in the Premier League and looked good. Patterson at the moment is a solid Championship keeper. His ceiling for me is Nick Pope (which I'd be delighted with) but I don't see him being as good as Pickford (which is no disgrace as he's got 50 caps for England).

Well I'm not mystic meg, of course it's not fact. But it is logical planning.

He'll be 5th choice in my view behind Ballard, Batth, Alese and O'Nien. That will give him time to settle into the country and the squad.

Any opinion that he's 3rd choice is just optimism because there's nothing at all to base it on.

I’d agree. Really hope Ballard and Batth are fully fit to start the season.

Spoke to him at the player of the season awards and said to him my grandson says that he wants you to stay at SAFC and he said - tell him not to worry I don’t intend going anywhere . Hope that constitutes a promise !

I disagree somewhat.

Picks was tossed in in the Premier League while Patto was brought back from Gateshead.

Had Patto started at the higher level we will never know.

I love Picks but I don’t see anything bar his distribution that Patto isn’t strong and improving on, and he has that extra height.

Picks stepped up quickly because he was a boisterous, cocky kid. Patto could be as good for sure in my opinion, just kind of ‘circumstances’

I also not that looks like I’ve posted 2 on the bounce arguing you here, I’m confident you know this isn’t a targeted attack or owt amigo ha.
