He's probably one of those journalists that has "contacts" with certain clubs i.e. managers/chairmen etc. Give him stories now and again that he puts out. It wouldn't surprise me if under Donald and Methven he was one they spoke to and fed stuff to. Since KLD came in all that has stopped and he's working on very little other than from the other side of any of our deals.
If it's true that Burnley have offered £7 million for Clarke it's probably one of two things.
1 - Burnley are clueless and think we're desperate to sell so will accept any offer as we're "only" a championship club right now.
2 - Burnley are skint but have put in a token offer to get attention to divert from that, knowing well knock it back, but they can say they tried.
Personally I think it's more likely that he's just pulled a figure out of his arse to pad out his story and in honesty he knows nothing.
