The personality bit is so hard, the easier way is using contacts to find out what they are like. For example when we were after Ekwah I suspect they would have spoken to Alese to ask what he was like in training etc

Scouts & DoF's will look on social media as well to see what their activity is like
I suppose they will have to be extremely careful not to get into 'tapping up' territory as well.

Can't exactly pick up the phone to their mam and ask if they are canny kid....."Hi Mrs Bloggs, its SAFC here, has little Johnny passed all his GCSE's" <laugh>

I don’t think £20million for Clarke is ‘great business’

I think it’s about par, but wouldn’t be offensive to accept.

turning a £3m signing into £20m in 18 months is great business without any context tho.

the fact he could be £30m in 12 months is what lessens that.

It’s a huge call for Speakman and KLD to make if they get bids in that region. I will back them either way

I don’t think for a second Jack won’t be here next season.

And re the Dickheads on twitter and certain forums, well, look at the season ticket sales to date.

I’d say that’s your guide to how connected the club and fans are. Numbers are insane people are excited about the club again.

Most of the bellends on Twitter post during the match. Anyone that goes the match knows how **** signal is in the SOL <laugh>
......knock your connectivity to 2G when you're in there.

He could also be worth £5m in 12 months

FM he could die tomorrow and be worth FA. Look on the bright side

his point is valid. It’s easy to say “turn down £20m because he will be worth £30m next summer”. But he might not be. It’s why it’s going to be a tough decision for the ownership to make if we do start getting bids at that price

Not sure what sell on clause spurs have, which has to be taken in to account , I know Leeds have a huge sell on clause in huggins deal but that was a lot do with us getting him for free

I love Clarke by the way, I’d love him to stay here. Attitude matches his ability and it’s great to see him running at defenders no matter how many times he fails. But realistically if this model is the way the club is to be ran we need to cash in on prized assets to hopefully fund a couple of players as good as him.

Not sure we have to sell him now with 3 years left. One year crack at it and we’ll still get max price barring a bad injury.

£20m now minus whatever the sell on fee clause may be, which I’m guessing will be pretty high knowing what Daniel Levy is like, or keep him and push for promotion with one of the best wingers in the league on hand to help for at least next season.

To me its a no brainier that we keep him rather than accept that. As long as he wants to stay.

Not sure if this is true or not so just going off memory. Didn't Birmingham have a chance to sell Jude for 5 ish mill but got him to stay another year with a sell on clause in his contract? Basically keeping both parties happy.

Maybe we've got a gentleman's agreement with Jack or we're negotiating a new contract which suits both parties better.

For him to sign in 2024?

No what I mean is part of our "model" is letting these talented young lads go at the right time for both parties. I'm sure Jude had numerous offers years before he went to dortmund but stayed for the better of both parties. I'm not sure if Speakman was part of this or not but it would make sense.

If JC wants to go and let's the club know I'm sure they will let him, but his agent literally came out and said he was happy here days ago.

Maybe he wants a payrise, maybe not. But the lad has a contract here for another 3 year so if people want him they need to pay top dollar
