Aye i remember that, just meant foreign teams were still able to sign players from english teams but the english teams then couldnt replace them so made it worseIt already did happen a few years ago in England, it got reversed after a year or two

Amad added quality and goals both of which we lack. I think quality and goals are what we are missing. Don’t care if they’re loans or age personally but we need to add some game changer players in the right places. The lack of consistency is remarkable. I've heard a few times that 'we need to sign players established and experienced in this league as we've lost Amad, Simms and Stewart' ignoring the fact that none were experienced and established in this league until we introduced them to it.
Well exactly. To be a talented, top quality game changer you don't have to be experienced in this league which is what those individuals are saying our signings have to be.Amad added quality and goals both of which we lack. He was making a point, how else can he make a point if no one is listening after all this time. If they want promotion but won’t buy anybody to score goal’s don’t look at TM as the problem. Would they buy another goalkeeper if all ours were injured or just try and get one in their own time? Not being revisionist here or anything but just a feeling something wasn't right before the start of the season. Had folk saying we'd go one better than last season but I couldn't see it, no matter what anyone says this league will be far far harder than last season. You had the Mowbray saga just after the end of last season which wasn't ideal to say the least, then bit of optimism when we brought the four lads in early, since then something has just felt "off". What with all the off field stuff aswell, the amount of goals we were conceding preseason was a real worry to me, even more so than up top.
Mowbrays comments and team selections first two games, well subs mainly have been alarming. He was moaning, and rightly so, about lack of experience. Then leaves Batth and Pritchard on the bench! Almost like he's making a point.
Kind of reminiscent of just before Neil ****ed off.
Yeah would only really work if the rest of the major leagues followed suite. Think at the time they thought that's what would eventually happen, it just ended up being a mess in the end.Aye i remember that, just meant foreign teams were still able to sign players from english teams but the english teams then couldnt replace them so made it worse

Not quite mate.Meltdown by some, probably vocal, individuals. I don’t think these boards represent our overall fan base, but honestly m8 if they did the chemists in the town would run out of bipolar medication.
as to your points, that’s fine it’s your opinion, but honestly is that how you felt and expressed your position in May? Most people were enthused as far as I recall, then the new signings were greeted well. All the time we all said Stewart either needed to be sold and replaced, or be back firing on all cylinders, for me still the same, lots of positives just missing a striker, hopefully we’ll get one but if we don’t we’re where we were from February.
Why is that?Yeah would only really work if the rest of the major leagues followed suite. Think at the time they thought that's what would eventually happen, it just ended up being a mess in the end.
Just answered my question, just make it so when ours is closed, it’s closed. No players going in or out.Aye i remember that, just meant foreign teams were still able to sign players from english teams but the english teams then couldnt replace them so made it worse
Remember when we signed Amad some where desperate to point out he’d flipped for Rangers.
Doesn’t matter what the club do there’s a section of our support desperate to pick it apart or for it to fail so they can get the knives out.
I assume these folk are all in high flying jobs with flawless career records, and get everything done in record time.
I believe that pattern is deliberate and I expect nothing better than a play off spot this year. If we don’t make that then yes it would be underwhelming. If however we get stronger and stronger as season goes on we could be finishing as the form team Progression can be in squad development and positioning for future seasons without necessarily improving the league finish. They DO have credit, but there is a pattern emerging where we are relying on youngsters to fill the shoes of experienced players - I have no issue with that in principle, but as stated previously, if we haven't learned the lessons of last season then we are in for an underwhelming season this time around. I hope I am wrong
It's never as simple as that though is it. There is a reason why so many deals go down to the last week of the window as clubs are waiting other clubs to do their deals before they can sell or buy.Just answered my question, just make it so when ours is closed, it’s closed. Preston sold out at the weekend!!
people still wanna keep banging on about us being in the **** and doomed?![]()
Forums aren’t an accurate representation of our support in the main though.
I think hes that highly rated by the club, i think they see him as a starter once fully fitI can’t get my head around the Seelt signing. I’ve got a feeling he will go onto be a really good player for us. But we’ve got loads of CB options. If funds are limited, why spend around £2 mil on another CB. Let’s say we have a budget of £3 mil for a striker (I don’t think that’s unrealistic given the Lihadji/Bell sales.) Seems unnecessary to buy Seelt, would we not be better with a £5 mil striker budget.
signing Seelt suggests we do have money to spend, but the clock is ticking. It would have been much nicer to see Hemir make his debut against Crewe than Ipswich.
