agree it was just to show, that if it's true Stewart is asking for 30k a week, that's over 4x the amount of an average championship wage

I thought we offered him £10k and he wanted closer to £15k? Never heard of £30k being mentioned mind, that’s unrealistic and more than pretty much everyone in the championship bar some who’ve been recently relegated. I’d be surprised if Maja has signed for WBA for less than £15k a week I’d say that’s probably the going rate for a decent championship striker.

Most exciting one linked out of the out and out strikers for me, looks a Stewart replacement more than anything though hope there’s something in it if he is away

Initially just said “ it’s happening”. Didn’t give further info until a few people accused him of being a WUM. The mate at academy only appeared after that and looks like a bit of saving face but hopefully not.

Absolutely, and the Saudi money percolating through will only make it more difficult. Proud we are at least being sustainable with wage bill. For the huge wages that can be offer in general I’ll save my gripes for another thread on another day. Still plenty of time before window closes so not panicking yet. I trust the club to know what they’re doing and make the right decisions at moment. If things don’t happen quickly then I’m pretty sure it won’t be for want of trying behind scenes.

Look on the bright side, no news on clubs trying to buy our lads either. Couple of weeks I was worrying we would lose Ballard or Clarke, now much less so.
