Yeah they need to stick to their principles to stand any chance of staying up and as you said theyll bank loads of money which could change the future of the clubLuton linked with every player we are. Preparing to go down and be strong to get back looks like, Bank the £200 million or whatever.
Smart in truth.
Would everton **** in their own nest and sell him to luton , a relegation rival? I can't see that
Which doesn’t help them with their FFP issues though.Yeah fits that flexible approach to differing positions where as Simms didn't. Would like it to happen but imagine it's going to take more than 3m. Probably be heavily incentive based.
It was £3.5m initial fee for Simms wasn’t it?Which doesn’t help them with their FFP issues though.
The fact they held out for the fee they did with Simms, despite him being in the last year of his contract, makes me think we’ll be well priced out of any permanent move for him.

But Cannon has more than a year left to run on his contract. It has a monumental impact on the valuation of a player. It was £3.5m initial fee for Simms wasn’t it?
The article linking us with Cannon says initial £3m fee, so it’ll be a similar sort of deal if the story is accurate.
Maybe Batth ‘personal reasons’ are the security of a 2 year deal.
He’s gotta get what he can in now and I’d fully understand that.
Be gutted if he went, as I’ve said many times the best leader we have had since my idol Bally.
Facts are though, he’s ageing and he’s slow. He was brilliant last season but could fall off a cliff.
I hope he remains but trust the club.
Cannon would be perfect but £3million seems ambitious for such a rated prospect.
Aye, without a doubt. I just think Everton could be asking for a fee that just isn’t affordable within our own FFP limits and that we’ll think we can find better value elsewhere. I hope I’m wrong because I think he’s perfect for what we need.Possible but we have shown we are willing to spent for the right player.
Correct - just means we would need to sell firstAye, without a doubt. I just think Everton could be asking for a fee that just isn’t affordable within our own FFP limits and that we’ll think we can find better value elsewhere. I hope I’m wrong because I think he’s perfect for what we need.

I thought as much like
It never is TM decision as head coach , that's not his job, speakman will always be blamed for every wrong decision that is made in the transfer window and praised for every right one.I agree 100%. It's not TM decision so you'll know who is making it. Not having a go but it is.

He got slated on here for the Keane deal falling through and AN leaving, seems that didn't turn out too bad. I really don't want DB to leave but if he does I'm happy to see how it pans out.
Other than Dajaku who I still think there's a player in there and Anderson who TM Doesn't seem confident in playing I cant think of any mistakes speakman has made in the transfer market.
People will always go back to not signing another striker last year but there probably wasn't one they felt was good enough. We also finished in the play off places and had it not been for our CBs all been out injured I believe we would have been promoted, no one would have predicted we would do so well at the start of the season .
I know you have a lot more personal involvement in the club and your not a fan of speakman but I do think he's gotten nearly everything right since he came in and we as a club have so much to be optimistic about, like I said I don't want DB to leave but if he does then I think it will still turn out ok
Sounds fair enough, unfortunately. Yes he is the POTS last year and yes we would like him to be the POTS next year as well. Sentiment needs to be put to one side though and offering Batth a contract up to 2025 could be viewed as irresponsible, given his age and salary. That's just a positive spin on it. Telling our pots that no contracts will be on offer is literally ditching him. Sort of a political answer from Michael.
Yeah, I suppose. But I think he only has an extra year on Simms’ contract. But Cannon has more than a year left to run on his contract. It has a monumental impact on the valuation of a player.
