I get ya, you have to hope that one or two will come good.
Ben White, even though you overpaid and he had a mare against Brentford, if he turns out to be your John Terry, it'll look like a steal.
Lokonga will probably end up like another Kanu, a decentish player, but thats just my feeling based on Arsenals recruitment in the past.
Odegaard I just dont see what he offered you that was so great. I only watched Arsenal half a dozen times last season, but he really didnt stand out, and Real dont let good players go for £30m.
Ramsdale is a back up goal keeper.
We haven't got CL football, so we're not going to be able to sign 'marquee' players. What we needed to do was sign quality players who will work hard for the team and add some leadership to our piss weak mentality. Yes Brentford was abysmal, but at this point I'm willing to put it down to first game and lacking all of our recognised strikers.
Ben White is a quality CB, he's proved that already so one game doesn't turn him into a donkey. £50m is a huge fee, but you always have to factor in the English tax for a young England international.
From what I've seen of Lokogna, he's a proper ball playing, mobile DM with a great pass and reads the game really well. He was also captain at Anderlecht, so he's already carried the responsibility of that on his shoulders and should add presence to our midfield. At the end of the day, he's going to rotate with Partey and Xhaka in there, so if he improves our squad, then it's a positive addition.
Odergaard was really good for us when he came in. Yes we had a **** season, but he was one of the positives in there. Remember he only came in Jan so he had half a season to settle in and produce. He then picked up an injury towards the end of the season which hampered him. But with him in the team we are much more creative and he gets the ball to our strikers. Again he works his socks off and that's what we need. He's also the Norway captain, so he adds leadership that we badly need. As for Real letting him go, they are broke mate so it's a buyers market where Spanish football is concerned.
We also picked up Tavares for a pittance and he looks like another decent, pacey, skilful and hardworking player.
Our squad is undoubtedly better this season. It's now down to Arteta to get the best out of these players, that he has signed. So there's no more excuses for him
