Us and our little cousins are both supposedly after Charlie Austin.... Decent record and a hard worker on the pitch... Very "experienced" though.... Suppose we can't load up on bright young things too much. The other rumour I saw today was Callum O'Dowda following his release by the Wurzels... Swap him for Pack maybe
At 32 Austin doesn't fit Morison's desired age profile. While some experience is valuable, sign him and some of us old gits should dust off our boots. From what I see on the Wurzels site, O'Dowda hasn't set Ashtip Grate alight this season and the local yokels seem happy for him to go. Not a good sign.
They are rarely happy.... Unless they are running away with the league as any "big club" should do They couldn't wait to get rid of their top scorer the season before... Their manager Lee Johnson, despite only going backwards under him for one season (his last)... I don't think their judgement is much to go on TBF...
Ollie Tanner in....................... https://www.footballinsider247.com/...o-sign-tottenham-target-ollie-tanner-sources/
Well if it all goes ahead, first of all well done to him for turning down Spurs Certainly fits into the Morison age profile. I wonder if we'll get another Spurs target.
Looks like out of contract Josh Laurent at Reading is on his way to add to our midfield. Also interest in Michael Smith at Rotherham for up top who's also out of contract.
We were after Lauren before he went to Reading. Could be very good. Can he bring Swift with him too? Smith is outside the desired age profile but still banging them in for Rotherham. Will certainly upset Championship defenders.

Given all the older players leaving the club, one or two 30+ year olds will be needed. Morison talked about us having older and younger players with few in the middle bracket. That profile has changed now. An older head to lead the line wouldn't go amiss.
I’m all for a few punts on lower league players. Somewhere out there is a Jamie Vardy. ps Reminds me of Gary Stevens and John Lewis brought in from non league who succeeded. Paul Parry another.
