anyone heard of Alderweirald of Ajax. CB and we are being linked to him in Holland and in the Telegraph. apparently was linked to Liverpool last January.

Good player. Now pretty much a regular in the Belgian national side and for Ajax (their vice-captain). Strong, right-footed defender, Gerrard-like with his long passing, and a very powerful shot. Lots of clubs are being linked with him, since he is apparently intent on moving and has said he is not renewing his contract with Ajax. Who knows if we are interested; not a top priority for us I would say. <ok>

With regards to ruddy, is only want to sell if he is determined to leave.
I doubt very much we would make money from the deal. If get £10m and go after Forster, Celtic will demand £10m knowing we have it and are desperate to sign a keeper.

Wouldn't that be the most enormous og for ruddy, a big rival for the England keeper position coming in to work with the England gk coach while he collects splinters on the Chelsea bench!
Bah!

Clearly, Chelsea are feeding the press to unsettle Ruddy. I believe CH and DM when they say no bid has been received. The press wouldn't make up the £5m bid, but Chelsea would, and then follow it with 'which was immediately knocked back by Norwich'. This was meant to unsettle Ruddy, encouraging him to say 'Norwich are asking too much for me' (like Toivonen did after Fulham's £2m offer - yes, Fulham play the same dirty game). The third stage is to tell the press, 'Ruddy wants to talk to us' (implying that City 'won't let him'). IMO, it'll come down to whether Ruddy wants to play Chelsea's dirty game or not. So far, so good.
