Arsenal are on record saying they have made no approach of any kind for Higuain. The idea that they want him is a journo's fabrication. I think Wenger is confident that Giroud will step up this season and is looking for something different, hence their so far unsuccessful bid for Suarez.
arsenal continue 'being arsenal', despite all their words about new signings. i think the manager is the problem, not the board but who knows. who cares!
I am glad we have made so many positive signings early doors. We are obviously in the market for another striker and it seems as though its going to take some time to sort the right deal out for the right player. I would be much more worried if we hadnt already made huge improvements to the starting 11.
I agree that the board is not the problem, but nor is the manager. The real problem is one people studiously avoid talking or writing about. Poor reflection on football journalists IMO. To that extent I agree with your question "Who cares?", to which the answer is "Only the Arsenal board and manager". Anyway, enough of this or I will be told off again for going off-thread
qpr's bid for hooper has just been accepted. i reckon we've lost interest if the fee of £5.3m rising to £7m is correct
But it doesn't matter if Hooper does not want to play Championship football. I guess we will see QPR continue their reckless spending, I tell you what they are bloody nuts. After TF came out and said he had been naive etc last season and had been taken advantage of in his first season as owner he stumps up £7m for a striker in the Championship. They are nuts.
According to SSN, John Guidetti is in the Man City squad for their South African tour. That suggests he is more or less back to full fitness. Meanwhile City have brought in Negredo, and Pellegrini has said that Dzeko remains an important part of his plans. I would think Guidetti needs game time, not bench warming, so might be available again on loan.
Yes, he has had a viral illness of some kind, which has certainly been "long term" in the sense of keeping him sidelined for the whole of last season. Doesn't mean that he is not now getting back to fitness, and his being included in the tour squad suggests that might well be the case. If so there will be plenty of clubs looking to give him game time if he needs it. Why not us?
Indeed, so he is unlikely to be sold. But in the circumstances another loan spell would seem to make sense.
Also, are we forgetting we enquired about N'Doye? I know his club have put a ridiculous price on him, but as we are reviewing possibilities, he appears to be one.
admittedly not seen a great deal of him but i'd be very disappointed if we signed him. my experience of him playing in denmark was not a memorable one (i couldn't even recall which team he played for). has all the hallmarks of darren beckford imo. i know rbf isn't a fan either
