I would be made up if we could get Sahin - we have been crying out for a replacement for Alonso and I think he could be play that role.

Allen - good all around player who can play nice short passes and keep things tickings over. But Sahin can do that but also play long balls, and incisive ones too.

14.11 BST: Could Liverpool look to hijack Arsenal's bid to take Nuri Sahin on loan from Real Madrid? That's what reports on Merseyside suggest.

Would ****ing cream myself. Zingy get a towel.

Former Besiktas official Hulusi Ozdurmaz added to speculation regarding Liverpool's interest in Ricardo Quaresma today.

Speaking to Kartalbakisi TV, Ozdurmaz said, "If Liverpool make a formal bid for the figure being quoted the board will accept the offer.

"Liverpool don't have a player of Quaresma's quality in his preferred position, the important thing however, is getting the best out of him.

"I don't see Quaresma staying here much longer."

Quaresma has been dropped from pre-season training by Beşiktaş manager Samet Aybaba.

The 28-year-old Portuguese international will train apart from his teammates and has been transfer listed by the Istanbul club.

Quaresma has been unwilling to accept the Black Eagles demands for a wage cut, lowering his €3.75 million salary to €2 million per-season.

Recently appointed manager Brendan Rodgers has been interesting in bringing in more technical players to the Premiership outfit.

Quaresma joined Beşiktaş from Inter Milan for €7.3 million in 2010. The Portuguese winger has 27 assists and 18 goals in 73 appearances for the Istanbul club.

I'd take it.

at 28 should be in his prime with room to give us a few good years. Already been in the prem once so shoul dhave a decent enough understanding of it. <ok>

All in all, it gives us something different - pace on the wings and trickery, which we lack.

I haven't seen too much of him but I get the impression that he is a bit of a lazy player. For him to succeed in BR's team, he needs to press and win the ball back. Is this a fair assessment of him? Hopefully I'm wrong.

He can be, but was it because he was being played out of position, frustration, style didn't fit his play? All could be asked but I think he is gamble worth taking.

BTW, with the signing of Cazorla, might we pop in for Walcott? Still not sure on that one.
