Coady was loads younger than O’Nien when he came to the PL, thoughPeople said similar things about Conor Coady when he was at Wolves, and he ended up playing for England and being in a couple of finals squads.

Where’s the game time coming from?Still doesn’t mean he can’t make the step up though.
Never said it was going to be easy for him, but have we have seen he’s a determined so and so.Where’s the game time coming from?
Alderete, Mukiele, Ballard, Geertruida all ahead of him.

Sounds like a canny job mindThe club didn't just hand him a new contract to patrol Roker beach saving Labradors![]()
Seeing things like? Where has that been saidYou know, I wish people who say they support the club actually support the players who play for the club and got us to where we are now rather than say they're ****e and not good enough

He probly wont play much at all but im glad the club have looked after him with a new contract and hopefully big pay rise, well deservedO’Nien won’t play much at all without injuries and suspensions. Squad player now and that’s fine as he’s very versatile. He’s 31 in November too, not a chance we get anywhere near £10m for him…
He hasn't even been given a squad number and the back of his shirt is printed with PAW PATROL written on it so he will be on the beach more times than David Hasselhoff. Luke will be there when he is neededThe club didn't just hand him a new contract to patrol Roker beach saving Labradors![]()
Indeed but at times two of those could well be playing fullback and one has a fair amount of time out with injury.Seeing things like? Where has that been said
FWIW, IMO O9 just won’t find the game time without injuries. I think it’s a step too far but wouldn’t ever count him out. But the game time just isn’t there.
Alderete, Geertruida, Mukiele, Ballard, Reinildo
all can play CB
That would be something to behold.I hope when LON makes his PL debut it’s off the bench at home.
One reason. So we can give him the most thunderous applause imaginable and that there’s no doubt the lad knows it’s for him.

There will be a few players having to be patient for their opportunity. His leadership among that group could be crucial to keeping them happy, focused and upping their levels ready for when the chance inevitably comes.Truthfully I think they’ve rewarded him even knowing he won’t play much. And as one of his biggest critics over the years, he absolutely deserves it. The lad has been total class from L1 to the PL and for all its brilliant for us to completely revamp the squad and bring in quality CB’s it would be really bad form for him to remain on a lower league wage going into what will probably be his last shot of a lengthy contract. Modern day football doesn’t really have much place for doing the “right thing” with so much money involved and PSR limitations etc but the club have done right by O’nien imo, even if he doesn’t make a single appearance this season. We all see the impact he has on the lads around the training ground etc in the videos the club publish.
100%. Even if he never gets on the pitch,he's worth his weight in gold around the place. Epitomises everything we've become in the last 5 years. There will be a few players having to be patient for their opportunity.
