Nah we'll be fine. We absolutely shouldn't spend all we can possibly spend this year, though, as that is artificially inflated by the sales in the last accounts. We need this to be a number that we can live with in 26/27 and beyond. I'm sure we will make sales along the way but it would be bad for us if we are forced to sell either to allow new signings or (worse) to stay inside the rules. You can't bank on sales as a necessity in your business plan as they are not always reliable - either in size or in timing.

If the worst came to the worst I think we'd be in a bit of a spot, personally. I think the standard of player we've brought in would all see themselves as being above the championship so we'd see a debilitating churn in the squad. I have no doubt that we'd be okay financially, but our chances of an immediate return would be diminished. Thankfully I'm feeling relatively confident that we won't have to find out!:emoticon-0102-bigsm

Personally i am very much at ease that we would see most if not all the new signings leave as it kind of shows we have really given it a go and tried something different this year.

It might not be for everyone, but i much prefer this strategy of signing to have a real go at staying up than signing players that would be decent and stay if we went down.

If we try this and it doesnt work, then the Premier League really are in trouble

It's funny watching clubs like Leeds twisting about us spending money when they mortgaged future gate receipts chasing trophies and failed ...

... their supporters were lording it over everyone and backing Risdale to the hilt.

Now Sunderland are spending their own money they really can't cope with it.
Yes Risdale put us back years, I loved it at the time and it was a mistake.

I can't speak for every Leeds supporter, but I honestly have no malice towards Sunderland, I can see from your previous posts, you have a hatred towards Leeds, you'll have your reasons and I'm not posting to challenge that.

I hope Sunderland stay up, if it was at the expense of Leeds of course I am going to change my mind but I'm sure we can both survive.

Someone at the club decided we were not going to pay the fees some selling clubs were asking this season, right or wrong it isn't my decision so I can have an opinion but it won't change anything. At the time, it was quite comical how, for a few, it was Sunderland beat Leeds to a signature and some fans jumped all over it as a genuine victory, nobody knows the real truth behind it all.

The Leeds side is we didn't want to pay the fee, the Sunderland side is the player preferred Sunderland, maybe both are correct statements.

Just last week there was an article on how Leeds are going to get revenge and sign a Sunderland target, the truth is you probably went elsewhere and are no longer interested, it is all click bait nonsense that some more than others fall for.

At the time I thought you were paying above market odds for Sadiki and Diarra, after the first game it would seem you have found bargains, it doesn't matter what I think though, it's just discussion, not an argument, not a pi$$ take, not a jealousy.

If I was going to be jealous it would be how Man United were supposedly broke yet sign three players each costing in the region of £75m or how Man City go unpunished and have bought every trophy they've won in recent years.

I have a dip in and out of X but we are talking 2-3 times a month so I have no idea what feuds, jealous rages or anything else that goes on, I prefer forums where you can get to know a personality and can have a few decent debates.

Now this is the kind of reason why newly promoted clubs need to break the trend and survive sending new teams down. I am sure we were both genuinely interested in this guy but he didn't want another relegation. Transfers become easier when there is not a preconceived assumption that you are going straight back down

they play a back 3 which probably suits him to be fair.

very good signing for them.
They play a back 3 which is perfect for Coady central and Doyle left
More to do with the abysmal style of play really. Won't get the opportunity to use his passing range there. Although like I said, I don't think Parky will be there for much longer. Good signing.

I don't have a particular hatred of Leeds, don't put words in my mouth thanks, although they have had a historical imbalance of arrogance over pride imo.

And no, you don't speak for Leeds supporters, some of whom have displayed an intense hatred of Sunderland over the years.

There's been a tendency this season, from Leeds supporters, to jump on every Sunderland signing as 'too expensive' which is now gradually becoming 'they're overspending and heading for trouble'.

You've inadvertently done exactly that with your only other post,

"As the buying club, don't forget to add between 5% and 10% to the total outlay for agent fees."

You couldn't prove my point much more concisely tbh.

About £12m more than I'd be willing to spend on him. He stood out in a very poor side but that doesn't always actually translate.
Good player, I would’ve liked him here

Villa, Palace and the Mags have all been linked. 3 European sides there

Yeah clearly a talented lad, Leicester in law thinks they probably hang on to Fatawu now unless there is a massive offer - They are desperate for players
