Don't you think that would mean it ends badly?

One bad outcome would be if Neil refuses a new deal, runs his contract down, doesn't play or look interested, leaves for free and signs for Boro ...

... all guesswork but, then again, quite possible.

There'd be an endless discussion about who's to blame and would leave a bad taste imo.
If that happens then only Neil to blame

The question I ask myself, if I'm being honest, is this ...

... would any Sunderland supporter be hoping we'd sign Dan Neil in this window if he'd come through the Bristol academy?

If we did sign him how much would we be happy to pay and where would he play?

Sadly I can't see any PL side wanting to buy him and can't imagine he'd be scouted for Europe.

Sounds to me like Newcastle have asked for him to put this out for a reason.

It puts Isak on the spot and pushes Liverpool into action ...

... if the player refuses Newcastle can turn round and say they had no choice.,

At the moment is looks 100% that Newcastle are being played and they won't like that.

Either way it's absolutely hilarious how badly everything is going for them <laugh>
Or liverpool can pull out as they do not need him. The mags are stuck with a very unhappy player who will leave for a lot less next summer

So are you saying that he might not have a thigh injury that stopped him going to Asia with the rest of the squad...? <doh>

No, I'm not......however,

Did you really use this '<doh>' to express your inerpretation of what I was trying to explore?

Read it again......I was talking about long term, not current injuries....

Did you attend school beyond the infants....dopey?

How good is the contract out of interest? I am interested to know length, salary, bonuses, release clauses etc. Just so I can decide if I think he should have signed it or not. Of course even then it will be only my opinion on whether he should or shouldnt, not Dans.
Obviously not good enough for him but enough in the eyes of the club. Would you pay higher than needed wages to sign an average championship player?

I said something similar a while back when I mentioned how good Jason Knight was for Bristol C last season. He was head and shoulders above Neil. Would any of our fans have been happy signing him for £10m+? Absolutely not because he’s not an academy lad

To be honest I'm not sure how reliable these smileys are <laugh>

I sometimes struggle to express myself and end up posting :steam: in sheer frustration.
