Yes he had a private flight scheduled from Barcelona. That got delayed originally and then cancelled completely
The Dan Neil situation makes sense to me, the player is familiar with the role and will naturally need less minutes than the new lads when it comes to grasping the tactics, he also needs to sign a new deal because if the window closes we can't sell him before he can agree pre-contract terms in January for a free transfer to another team. The club will have a deadline, probably a week or two before the window closes.

Agree. We as supporters aren’t entitled to every single detail. It may be that the player or the pilot had a dodgy curry and had had the sh1ts. The club don’t need to say.
A poster on RTG (I know) who gets a lot of flight stuff and has proven to be right, had the link to the flight on there etc, Keith also tweeted saying he is due to fly in that afternoon. Then that plane was delayed, then cancelled entirely and flew back to Salzburg, Keith then tweeted that the flight had been postponed

... I have to say, though, I'd feel a bit uncomfortable having people sending messages about my movements and travel arrangements.

Have to say the club may not get the fee they would like here. Might be a case of taking what they can get. It seems reasonably clear now there is no compromise to be had, sadly. That would have come sooner had one party or the other felt it worthwhile. It doesnt really make much sense to keep him for a year and let him go on a free. I doubt they are the sort to dig their heels in either, we seem to do right by players. This might well be a low fee with decent incentives. Ipswich wouldnt be the worst shout in the world for both parties. They get a lad who has captained a promotion team and who suits them. Dan probably gets 1st team shirt and a hefty contract. Clear shot at the prem again if that is his ambition. I would sooner that than see him at Everton or West Ham personally. Still hope he goes overseas - Seria A looks tailor made.

Seems a strange stance from Neils side, now the club has gone out and spent millions on a new midfield. His position of Captain , ever present and academy sourced was a decent bargaining chip 6 months ago ..It isn't now. If he wants to stay then his agent needs to give ground . If he prefers leave then I can see the club leaving him until late until the window as it helps, if other clubs don't know we need to replace .
