Perhaps we've a time traveler in our ranks
yep just landedDefinitely landing at Zurich.
That's a lot of detail in the article regarding the structure of the deal. If it isn't true they've certainly gone the extra mile to make it sound credible. I hope this is one they have got right and tbf they've been linking him to us all summerhttps://www.fichajes.net/en/news/sunderland-insists-on-this-real-madrid-player-20250726.html
Sunderland insists on this Real Madrid player
The Sunderland continues with its strong intention to sign Gonzalo, a forward who emerged from the Real Madrid academy and has shined especially in the recent FIFA Club World Cup. His performance in that competition has caught the attention of several clubs, including Getafe, which has also shown interest in the young Spaniard.
The great offer from Sunderland.
Despite the competition, Sunderland wants to close the deal quickly and has already put forward a proposal aimed at convincing the white club. The offer consists of 15 million euros plus 5 million in variables, in addition to including a 30% share of the player's future sale. This formula shows that Sunderland believes in Gonzalo's potential and wants to ensure a deal that benefits both parties.
What makes this negotiation special is the buy-back option that Real Madrid would have. The Madrid club will be able to re-sign Gonzalo in the next two years for a fixed price of 30 million euros. After that period, Sunderland will be free to set the price if any other team shows interest, although the 30% future sale clause that would benefit Real Madrid in case the player moves to another club will remain valid.
This strategy is common in today's football and allows major teams to continue controlling the future of their young talents, even when they decide to move to other clubs to seek playing time and experience. For Gonzalo, this could be an ideal opportunity to keep growing and demonstrate his worth at a club that strongly believes in him.
Meanwhile, Getafe remains interested but does not seem willing to match the offer or the conditions set by Sunderland, giving the English club an advantage in this race.
Tbf that was the deal we apparently offered back when it first came out. That's a lot of detail in the article regarding the structure of the deal. Ffs i keep forgetting we still have Poveda
Been training alone for a while. Has he finally announced he isnt going back?
To be fair to Parker I think he moved on a while ago.
Ffs don’t mention Zurich.Zurich is also nearby, Does KLD live there?
Like everything on this board, it is merely speculation. Nobody here has direct knowledge of the inside of the club. However, do I think there’s a world where the club could get this wrong? Absolutely there is. KLD getting directly involved could be a massive positive, yes. However it could easily also herald a complete change from what has made us successful and could lead to failure. If he gets too giddy or rushes to jump too many steps he could easily miscalculate and leave us in trouble.
There’s tonnes of stuff to like in what we’re doing so far this summer. However, amongst all of it, there are questions of process, of culture, of risk, of cohesion. Nothing is guaranteed and we already know that nobody at the club is perfect.
I don`t think many of us would have suggested after the final whistle went at Wembley that we would have signed Xhaka and would be debating a striker from Real Madrid who was described as a "goal machine" in "monstrous form"...what the **** is going on! Bring back Charlie Wyke or Stephen Fletcher level signings please - this is all too much!
Ffs don’t mention Zurich.![]()

Those people, a few months back, who said the club was a joke, KLD was a thief and they wouldn't renew their SCs ...
... must be wondering how they'll actually get into any of our games this season.
Nowhere near enough time in my opinion .
This would’ve been agreed through the week, final match to say bye to fans & team mates then any loose ends/press informed and confirmation from both clubs …
… no chance it was all put together over breakfast.
Harsh on FletcherI don`t think many of us would have suggested after the final whistle went at Wembley that we would have signed Xhaka and would be debating a striker from Real Madrid who was described as a "goal machine" in "monstrous form"...what the **** is going on! Who isn’t enjoying it? Can I post what I like? The answer to that is yes I can btwThere's absolutely nothing to suggest he'll do that.
The club has never been in a better position in living memory ...
... can't we just enjoy it while we can?
