I believe he'll come to Sunderland, simple as that.

People saying 'we're miles apart' is irrelevant.

Is £10m close, is £1m too far away?

This is part of the problem, people talk about millions of pounds as if it's confetti.
In a football sense it is though when they are spending fortunes on players. If we don’t agree a deal it won’t happen and Bayer have no reason to budge and we seemingly won’t go to their price so it does look like to anyone looking in that it won’t happen

a lot can change as we know but the clock is ticking and there’s a lot more work to be done. Xhaka would be key and so would a GK and CB in my opinion

We don't know that though, they might realistically know Xhaka doesn't want to be there ...

... Newcastle have no reason to budge but I bet they do.

Think this one will rumble on til the final few days of the window.
If it was anyone else I would say move on, but Xhaka will drastically improve our squad.

hoping that we get what we need in before the West Ham game, even if we got 2/3 more in I’ll be happy.

we are almost there.
And bar Jobe leaving we haven’t lost the key core.

I posted it earlier mate from the northern echo

That's my point, it's meaningless and just repeated exactly what's already been said a hundred times.

As I said they could be millions apart or half a million, who knows?

Seriously, if we can't trust this current regime, with the finances, there's no point carrying on.

I'm not sure they'll have to

Of course not but we don't know they have no reason to budge.

If they weren't willing to budge, and we'd ended our interest, they wouldn't still be talking.

It’s not about not trusting the regime, I just think from experience we won’t pay the fee required for him to come here

Newcastle need funds, Isak would grant them a record British fee. They’d be able to fund their window in positions they need. Isak has said he wants to move on and is showing no commitment

Bayer want to keep Xhaka and by the sounds he’s happy to stay and commit to Bayer without kicking up a fuss. Two different scenarios

We don't know that either.

If he was happy to stay he wouldn't have bothered telling his agent he only wanted to go to Sunderland and wouldn't have negotiated a deal.

We don't know what kind of fuss he's kicking up, we're all just guessing as are the media.

As for Isak, Newcastle don't need funds for a striker if he stays as Salah did.

If no one buys Isak he's still their player.

I feel like you have to trust what the media are saying to some degree, otherwise you wouldn't even think we'd asked about him.

But you don't know what that fee is ...

... and, from experience, haven't we just paid big fees?
We do know what the fee is. Multiple reports from Plettinberg and Sky have said it’s €20m and we had offered much lower, some reported €10m

You can’t pretend the media don’t know when they linked us in the first place

Why, Xhaka has already instructed his agent, the media just reported it, they didn't find out by accident.
Yes and they will know how the deal is going and what is being branded about…

Come on now, Sky and these top journalists (Ornstein, Fabrizio, Keith Downie, and more aren’t flat out lying)

Why, Xhaka has already instructed his agent, the media just reported it, they didn't find out by accident.

Exactly, and the report from Germany that he'd also be happy to stay there if it doesn't happen can come through that same pipeline?

Is it not reasonable that in his mind he's happy to stay there but if he leaves would only do it to come here?
