To be fair, it's football, so people get a bit carried away from all sides.

I had someone telling me the latest on Xhaka's transfer negotiations and asking why we hadn't been informed if there's been a new bid.

Fair enough but it's our club conducting what they'd like to be private negotiations, not 'Homes under the Hammer' <laugh>

When I said sarcastically, that in stark reality, 'it's none of our business' people piled on to tell me they're entitled to know ...

... that's where the lines become a little blurred imo.

A few people, me included, said that 'supporters are allowed to discuss transfer fees?' I don't think anyone said we are entitled to know about discussions...

We have a few Mystic Megs on here at the minute mate. Last week, people tracking planes to Faro from European destinations and then those from Brazil......laughable.
**** me,it's summertime, there are many wealthy Brazilians who have hoiday homes in Portugal and will fly to Faro,as with a very many Europeans.
I have colleagues and work mates who still operate at Ponteland and at Samson Aviation who would never be in the loop for info. I even worked at Samson in their early days for the lad who set Samson up, Terry Law. Very, very few of these will have knowledge of just who is on a specific Aircraft flying in. maybe One or two but no more than that.
I'm not going to say why it was called Samson Aviation but Terry, he was also a member of Newcastle Flying Club who moved from Sunderland Flying Club when Nissan moved in rescuing "The Newcastle Flying Club" from closure. He was a well respected Bank manager at I think it was either Lloyds or TSB in Sunderland. A smashing lad. So unless it is specifically named on the manifest at the departure Airport, most of these private charter aircraft is speculation.

To be honest I think half the fun of the transfer window is the wild speculation at least for me. Its mainly nonsense but if I didn't want that I'd just tune everything out until the window shuts.

I was being sarcastic, people can discuss anything they like.

My point was that, in reality, we're fed all kinds of nonsense from agents, clubs, media, etc but what Sunderland are doing is actually confidential.

Speculation is harmless until people start to actually stamp their feet and expect the club to do more ...

... which they sometimes do.

I couldn't agree more, it's all a bit of daft fun and speculation ...

... it's the difference between a panto and a serious play imo.

<wah>

I’d say Fulham, West Ham, Brentford & Wolves are candidates to potentially struggle from the established 17

Wouldn’t be shocked to see Forest (European struggles) & Bournemouth down there too.
Soon you will convince yourself we are going to win the league:emoticon-0100-smile.
